LINES
And Angles
Parallel Lines
Lines that are the same distance apart along its length (equidistance).
These lines will never meet. They also share the same gradient (slope).
Parallel Lines
Sometimes other lines are bad-mind and disturb the flow of the
parallel lines. Transversal Lines
Transversal Line intersect (cut) parallel

Corresponding Angles
● When parallel lines are cut by a transversal, the
angles that lie in the same position on each
line/ matching corners are said to be
corresponding.
● Corresponding angles are equal.
Alternate Angles (Equal)

Alternate Angles

● When parallel lines are cut by a transversal, the

angles that lie on the inner OR outer side of the
parallel lines AND on opposite sides of the
transversal are said to be alternate angles.
● Alternate angles form a Z or reverse Z and are equal.
Co-Interior Angles (Add to
180o)

Co- Interior Angles

● A pair of angles that fall on the same side of

the transversal but on the inside of the parallel
lines are said to be co – interior.
● Co- interior angles sum to 180°.
