Objectives of Internship

• To get the real world experience and exposed to cross section of


domains,
learnings, and interest .

• Provides opportunity to substantiate classroom learning with


practical experience and help them to prepare for their career-
placement
Guidelines for Internship Report
• Duration – 4 to 6 weeks (90 hours)
• Area of study – Commerce & Management topics
• Choice of organization – Business enterprise & Corporate establishment
Guidelines for Internship Report
• Certificate issued by the company in the letterhead with the authorised person
seal
and signature.

• Confidential rating must be given by the company based on below criteria for
10 marks mentioned in the certificate.

• Submit internship report to the department of the


college.

Chapter 1 Introduction (should include Focus, Objective, Scope& Limitations)


Company/Organization Profile (should include Brief History, Services
rendered, core performance & organization chart)

Chapter 2 Work Experience (should include brief summary of work done, for all
the weeks interned)

Chapter 3 Observations & Conclusions (should include observations, conclusions


& bibliographies)

Chapter 1 – Introduction
 Explain which company you interned with, where the facility was
located, and the main emphasis of your learning experience.

Profile of the organization/firm/company


 Main areas of its activities, business model, products and /or
services offered, client base, corporate philosophy, hierarchical
structure, number of employees, sales turn over, competition,
growth prospects, etc. etc.

 Do not attach photocopies of company brochures but develop the


profile in your own language and make it interesting and readable!
Chapter 2 – Work Experience
• Learning Agreement and Learning Objectives:

a) What was the purpose of your internship at the company? What made you
choose that particular company /firm /organization for your internship?

b) Describe the specific area(s) of internship or training.

c) In which department(s) of the company was the Internship taken? Please describe
the business unit, its business concentration and objectives.

d) What responsibilities, if any or assignment were given to you?


• Discussion: THIS IS T H E MAIN BODY O F YOUR INTERNSHIP REPORT!

This chapter will cover in detail the work you carried out during the
Internship. Your report will be judged by the thoroughness with which
you have covered the main assignment in this section
Chapter 3 – Observations & Conclusions

• Use this section for precise statements which draw together


the objectives of your Internship and the learning experience of
the Internship and to what extent the objectives were fulfilled.

• Care should be exercised to remain objective and to avoid


personal bias.

• Typing should be done on one side of the A-4 size paper.
Report
• The margin left side 1.75 inches, the right, top and bottom margin should be 1 inch
each.
• Font size: Chapter heading: 14; Sub-heading: 12 (Bold) and text of the running
matter: 12, paragraph alignment : justify
• Fonts to be used are Times New Roman (Only)

• The text of the report should have 1.5 line spacing; quotations and foot notes should be
in single-line space.
• The total of the report to be in the range of 40 to 50 pages.

• The report should be presented in Spiral (Normal binding) for report evaluation.
• The students shall also submit the 2 hard copies & PDF Soft copy of the report to
the Concerned Guide
EVALUATION OF REPORT
Submission Process

A comprehensive report of two copies of the internship,


along with the certificate and confidential rating, must
be submitted to guide within the stipulated timeframe.

1 – Black & White copy
General
 It is Mandatory to complete internship work for the completion of B . Co m Program as per
Bangalore University.
Guidelines
 All the candidates should update their internship progress status compulsorily to
their respective guide once in a week for consecutive weeks of 4 to 6 without fail.
 Permission letter from the college (in Letter Head) will be given only once and if required
candidate should take (Photocopies – Colored) for approaching multiple organization (if needed).
 Candidate should regularly communicate with the respective guide for smooth functioning of
internship work.
 All the candidates should attend regular classes and are then instructed to pursue internship
work.
 All the candidates are instructed to upheld college value during the internship.
 The college will not be responsible for any misconduct during the internship.
 The college does not undertake any financial commitment between either party (i.e.,
the candidate and the organization).
