INTRODUCTION
 Computerized college management system is developed to
facilitate the general administration system to manage the
various information of student and employees involved in
college. So, that college can access accurate information
quickly and easily as and when required, thereby improving
its operational efficiency and effectiveness.

EXISTING SYSTEM -
 In the existing system, the manual process, receiving data’s
from students and staff details are done through manual
records.
 All the college details are stored via separate databases. It
will take long time due to this process time waste, money
waste etc.
 In this process very difficult to maintain the fees and
accounting reports of college in proper way.
DISADVANTAGES OF EXISTING SYSTEM
Usage of lot of paper
Tedious task
Time consuming
Loss of information due to physical medium
PROBLEM STATEMENT -
 Lot’s of manual process must be eliminated.
 Students & Employees Information must be
stored ,modified and update .
 Can we Add large pool of Details.

 Can we perform Calculations .

PROPOSED SYSTEM -
 The main objective of the existing system is to provide a
user-friendly interface.
 The system, which is proposed, now computerizes all the
details that are maintained manually.

 Once the details are fed into the computer there is no need
for various persons to deal with separate sections.
 Only a single person is enough to maintain all the reports.
ADVANTAGES OF PROPOSED SYSTEM -
 User Friendly
 Accurate calculations are made.
 Less manpower required.
 It saves most precious time
 Large volumes of data can be stored with case.
 Maintenance of file is flexible.
 Records stored are updated now and then.
 Stored data and procedures can be easily edited

The hardware used for the development of the project is:
 PROCESSOR : PENTIUM III 866 MHz
 RAM : 128 MD SD RAM
 Processor Speed : 250 MHz to 833MH
 MONITOR : 15” COLOR
 HARD DISK : 20 GB
 FLOPPY DRIVE : 1.44 MB
 CDDRIVE : LG 52X
 KEYBOARD : STANDARD 102 KEYS
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS -
The software used for the development of the project is:
 Operating System: Windows-xp
 Web Server : Apache Tomcat(6.0.36)
 Database: My SQL
 Scripting : JSP (Java Server Pages)
 Editor’s : Eclipse Juno , My SQL Query Browser
DESIGN :
College Management System
MODULES-
The project has been divided into three modules –
 The different types of users are
 Admin
 Student
 Employee
ADMINISTRATOR MODULE:
 Login - If administrator enters ID and password correct it
goes to the admin services .
 Student – New student can be added into the system and
admin can update his details.
 Employee - New Employee can be added into the system
and admin can update his details.
 Account Details- The Course details form is designed for
entering the different course available in the campus and
other relevant details .
EMPLOYEE MODULE:
 Login - If Employee enters ID and password correct it goes
to the Employee Page.
 View Employee - The Employee can be only view his details
with specific ID.
STUDENT MODULE:
Login - If Employee enters ID and password correct it goes to
the Employee Page.

View Student - The Student can be only view his/her details.


PROPOSED SYSTEM
 By using this s/w, administrator can manage all
records in standard manner.
 Also it can help to get all or a particular student
attendance information by attendance master
 Also it can help to maintain the fees and
accounting reports of college in proper way.
 It helps to generate mark sheets of current year or
previous year's students

CONCLUSION
The project entitled as College Management System is the system that deals
with the issues related to a particular institution.
 This project is successfully implemented with all the features
mentioned in system requirements specification.
 The application provides appropriate information to users according to
the chosen service.
 The project is designed keeping in view the day to day problems faced
by a college.
 Deployment of our application will certainly help the college to reduce
unnecessary wastage of time in personally going to each department for
some information.
