rationale
We need a more efficient way to handle waste.
Manual sorting is slow, messy, and unsustainable.
This approach advocates for using technology to
automate the sorting process with sensors to quickly
and accurately separate materials like plastic,
paper, and metal. Automation reduces manual labor,
minimizes errors, and enhances recycling, creating a
more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally
friendly waste management solution that reduces
pollution and optimizes resource use.

GENERAL
OBJECTIVE
The general objective of this statement is to underscore
the critical importance of waste management and
segregation in urban areas, particularly in light of the
significant volume of waste generated daily in the
Philippines and the associated risks to public health and
the environment. By integrating Arduino technology, the
system enables real-time waste monitoring and automatic
segregation, thus streamlining the waste collection
process and promoting proper disposal and recycling
habits among residents. 5
