What is Google Forms?


• Google Forms is a survey administration application in the G Suite.
– A tool that creates forms for surveys, questionnaires or
presentations to collect and gather information from users via a
customized survey or quiz.
• Responses are then collected and automatically connected to a
spreadsheet or available for user to directly download.
• Several features are offered:
– Shuffle of questions for randomized order,
– Limit responses to once per person,
– Customize themes, etc.

Types of Questions
• Available options:

– Short answer, • Linear (Likert) scale,


– Paragraph (long text • Multiple-choice grid,
answer), • Checkboxes grid,
– Multiple choice, • Date, and
– Checkboxes, • Time
– Drop-down,

Types of Questions (Cont.)


• Each type of question is suitable for different objectives.
– Drop-down type is suitable for a question with a large number of answer
choices or just to shorten the survey space.
– Grid types are mostly used in a question with repeated answers.
• Linear (Likert) scale and Multiple-choice grid types are mostly used with
repeated answers.
– Satisfaction level: 1 = strongly disagree and 5 = strongly agree
• Checkboxes and Checkboxes grid types are for multiple (correct) answers.
– Asking preferred available time for a meeting in a week: morning, afternoon,
evening, nighttime.
– Asking important factors for making purchasing decision among brands: service
quality, pricing, promotion, store atmosphere, etc.
