Year 8 Biome project

The tundra biome, located above the Arctic Circle in regions like Alaska, Canada, and Russia, is characterized by its cold climate and unique ecosystems. Climate change and human activities, such as mining and construction, threaten the tundra's environment and wildlife. Efforts are being made by various countries to mitigate these impacts through renewable energy initiatives and conservation programs to protect this vital biome.

A tundra is a biome and is mostly covered in grass. The
tundra is located above the artic circle. The artic circle is
What is a above Alaska, Canada, Russia, and Greenland. Also there are
many mountains in that area. The climate is very strange,
tundra which is between -30 and 20 degrees Fahrenheit and it can
also get very windy. In the fall, all it does is rain for about 2/3
or more of the season. The amount of rain is closer to 20 to
25 inches of rain

the arctic circle, which is

Russia, Greenland,
Iceland, and Scandinavia
In fact the tundra is
about 10 percent of the
whole world.
Climate change is a huge issue for the tundra because since it is
very cold there and the species living in the tundra, so if the
temperature changes then the species would also be affected. In
addition, if it warms a little too much, in that time the soil could
get to warm and cause it not to snow that much and when it is
sunny the snow won’t be able to sustain the suns heat, which
would make the tundra become warm. Also, Clouds are very
sensitive to the air pollution and therefore the snow not only will
reflect the suns heat, but the heat could be so much that it starts

How humans/ melting all the snow and ice in the ground. Warming the tundra
would drastically change the landscapes on it and what wildlife can
continue to live there. Humans Have affected the Tundra in many

are affecting ways, with ski resorts, mining, and oil. The construction can harm
the soil and that can prevent plant life. Resources like diamonds
and gold have been found on the tundra and has led to the mining.

the Tundra When their drilling, the natural gasses come underneath the
tundra and that is where they are working. As a result, more
people came to work in the mining, which speeded up the process.
In the end they built roads and new towns. Unfortunately for the
animals it is hard to find food because since their food scattered
and the roads are blocking them from crossing. As well as the
people are stopping them because if they see like a reindeer then
the people will shoot at them and the animals are scared to go
out, which starves the species. Lastly, the3 pollution is gathering
oil and gas that the oil spills are likely, which have killed many
animals, due to the poison in the chemicals. In the end it might be
the environmental issues, but humans have affected the Tundra
just as much, which saying something and how much we care
about our biomes.
Humans can save the tundra and the spices
living in it, by reducing putting fossil fuels
into the air and eliminating the industrial
activity. Another way for humans to help the
Solutions for tundra is by using alternative energy sources,
such as the wind, solar, and hydropower This
Helping the would limit mining and that would benefit
the tundra greatly. After that then all the
Tundra industrial activity should be gone and if they
do it right, the tundra should be helped with
the climate change, plants, and the animals.
As humans we should learn to help our
biomes, so if people start doing some of
these things, then we could be seeing the
tundra in good hands.
Even though people are trying to help, the only way to
What make this happen is by telling countries, so that they
can act on it. Canada’s goal is to make sure that the
different tundra can adjust to the warming climate. How are
they doing this you might ask. Well Greenland WWF
Countries program and Russia, which stands for World Wildlife
fund is working with governments to take out the oil
are doing and gas and stop the change of climate. Also, Alaska is
to sustain helping the ice, so it doesn’t melt rapidly and getting
Renewable energy in the tundra, like mostly wind and
the Tundra solar. Canada Trying stop more ships in the tundra,
which causes the water to rise a little bit overtime.
Lastly Canada are protecting the wildlife, the habitats,
marine life, food, and plants.
Why we should help the Tundra more then any
other biome

Ever wonder the tundra just didn’t exist? Well, it does exist, but what
happened if it didn't. What would happen to the species, the climate, the
plants, or the world? Well, the climate would be very strange and all over the
place. The ocean would get the ph reduced and that would cause increase of
the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It would affect the marine life and the
plankton, which would disrupt every. Not to mention that it is where the
oxygen mostly comes form. This shows that the Tundra is very important and
should prioritized first then any other biomes. We never know that these
biomes might be the key in the future, so why not just focus on it now,
especially the Tundra
