The Storm and Stress of Adolescence
• This lesson is about “Adolescence” that means the time in a person’s life when he
or she develops from a child into a an adult. This is the most important stage for a
child to reach adulthood. It is the period in human growth and development that
occurs after childhood and before adulthood. The mental, psychological and sexual
attitudes and behaviors of an individual are basically shaped in this very stage.
Children must pass through several stages in their lives to become adults. For most
people, there are four or five such stages of growth where they learn certain
things:
• 1. Infancy (Birth to age 2)
• 2. Early Childhood (3 to 8 years)
• 3. Later Childhood (9 to 12 years)
• 4. Adolescence (13 to 18 years)
