CONJUNCTIVE ADVERBS
Conjunctive adverbs modify two independent clauses and join them together. Each
clause can stand on its own as a separate sentence, but a conjunctive adverb provides
a smooth transition from one thought to the next. When you join two sentences with a
conjunctive adverb, you need to use some punctuation:
