INVERSE OF A MATRIX
Therefore to find the inverse of a matrix A the following steps are required.

 Evaluate the determinant of the matrix A


 Compute the minor element and hence the cofactor matrix C
 Obtain the adjoint matrix, adjoint A by transposing the co-factor matrix C
 Multiply the adjoint matrix by the reciprocal of the determinant of A

CRAMER’S RULE
• The solution of systems of linear equations of the form AX = B can be
obtained using the determinant method called Cramer’s rule as
follows:

1 is the determinant of the matrix obtained by replacing the first column of A


with the entries of B,
2 is the matrix obtained by replacing the second column of A
with the entries of B and so on.
