eagerly went to witness the battle.
David’s Inquiry About the Battle
• • David questioned his brothers about the
battle.
• • He observed the Philistine champion Goliath
taunting Israel.
• • The army was paralyzed by fear, unable to
fight the giant.
The Philistine Challenged God

• • The Philistines believed military victories
proved the superiority of their gods.
• • Goliath underestimated the power of the
living God.
David Drew Resentment

• • No one else was willing to face Goliath.
• • David asked, 'Is there not a cause?' and was
determined to fight.
Saul’s Armor vs. David’s Armor

David.
• • David chose his own weapons: a sling and
five smooth stones.
A God Worthy of Trust

• • He declared victory in the name of the Lord.
• • David’s trust in God led to his triumph over
Goliath.
Internalizing the Message

God.
• • The story of David and Goliath reminds us of
God's power.
• • We can overcome our 'Goliaths' by standing
in faith.
