Country Comparison Insights
• Countries such as Nigeria, Mozambique, South Sudan, and the
Democratic Republic of Congo perform below average across all
indicators --- Economic Quality, Education, Governance, Health,
and Safety & Security, highlighting significant development
challenges.

• Analysis also reveals that countries such as Botswana, Algeria,

Morocco, South Africa, Ghana, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya,
Zimbabwe, Gambia, and Egypt are showing strong performance
in prosperity and development. In contrast, nations like Zambia,
Uganda, Madagascar, Sierra Leone, Angola, Ethiopia, Liberia,
Mozambique, Nigeria, Democratic Republic Congo and Soth
Sudan appear to be falling short in one or more key indicators,
which is hindering their overall progress
Regional Performance Insight
• Eastern African: 9 countries, 4
performing well, 5
underperforming

• Western Africa: 5 countries; 2

performing well, 3
underperforming

• Southern Africa: 4 countries;

• Northern African: 3 countries;

All performing well

• Central Africa: 1 country,

Recommendations
To address disparities and support underperforming nations, we propose the
following:

• Targeted Diagnostics: Governments should identify and focus on specific

development bottlenecks—whether in governance, education, infrastructure,
or healthcare.

• Peer Learning: Countries can adapt successful policies from better-

performing peers. For example, Botswana’s inclusive education policies
serve as a replicable model.

• Institutional Strengthening: Improve governance and service delivery

through capacity building and accountability mechanisms.

• Investing in Human Capital: Prioritize funding for education, healthcare, and

job creation to foster inclusive, long-term growth.

• Regional Collaboration: Encourage knowledge-sharing, trade partnerships,

and investment initiatives across African regions to promote collective
prosperity.
Conclusion

• Data highlights significant gaps in development

• Some countries set strong examples
• Tailored strategies are needed for sustainable
growth
