phenomenon?
What is phenomenon?
phenomenon, in a scientific context, is something that is
observed to occur or to exist. It is simply a fact or event
that can be observed with the senses, either directly or
using equipment such as microscopes or
telescopes.
Introduction
Social phenomenon are complex behaviors that
occur within a society, impacting the lives of
individuals and shaping the fabric of
communities.
These phenomenon encompass a wide range of
issues and concerns, from poverty and
inequality to discrimination and mental health.
There are many kinds of social
issues/concerns that we facing here in this
world.

And one of this social issues is:


Teenage pregnancy
•Teenage pregnancy is when a woman
under 20 gets pregnant. It usually refers
to teens between the ages of 15-19. But
it can include girls as young as 10. It's
also called teen pregnancy or
adolescent pregnancy.
•Teenage Pregnancy Declined from 8.6 percent in 2017
to 5.4 percent in 2022. Teenage pregnancy among
Filipino women aged 15 to 19 years declined from 8.6
percent in 2017 to 5.4 percent in 2022.
Insurgency
•Insurgency is a form of conflict
in which a group of individuals
or organizations use subversion
and violence to achieve their
political or social objectives.
Insurgencies can emerge in
response to a variety of
grievances, including perceived
injustice, marginalization, or
political exclusion.
Poverty
•Poverty is a multifaceted and
complex phenomenon that
encompasses a lack of resources,
opportunities, and capabilities
necessary for individuals and
communities to meet their basic
needs and lead a decent life.
•Poverty is a global challenge that requires a
multifaceted and holistic approach to address its
root causes and effects. Efforts to eradicate
poverty
. must prioritize strategies that promote
inclusive economic growth, social protection,
access to quality education and healthcare, gender
equality, and social inclusion.
Numbers of Filipino have experiencing of
poverty here in the Philippines

•The recently released national poverty


estimates show that poverty incidence rose from
16.7 percent in 2018 to 18.1 percent in 2021.
This translates to 19.9 million poor people, an
increase of 2.3 million over the same period.
Unemployment and
•Unemployment refers to the
Underemployment
state of being without a job or
livelihood. It occurs when
individuals who are willing and
able to work are unable to find
suitable employment
opportunities. Unemployment is
a key economic indicator that
reflects the health of an
economy and the efficiency of its
labor market.
The unemployment rate in the Philippines:

•The unemployment rate in the Philippines fell to 4.2% in


October 2023 from 4.5% in the corresponding month a
year earlier. It was the lowest jobless rate since
November 2022, as the number of unemployed persons
came in at 2.09 million, down from 2.24 million in
October 2022.
Possible causes why does many Filipino are unemployed

•Lack of investors and businesses that could provide good jobs


for the Filipino people. High rate of population growth, lack of
access to land, insufficient job creation in industry. History of
inappropriate economic policies contributed to high
unemployment.
Human
Trafficking
•Human trafficking is a global criminal
industry that involves the exploitation of
individuals
. through force, fraud, or coercion
for the purposes of forced labor or
commercial sex. It is a serious violation of
human rights and a form of modern-day
slavery that affects millions of people around
the world.
Here are the examples of human trafficking:

•Labor trafficking
-Labor trafficking involves the recruitment, harboring,
transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor
or services through the use of force, fraud, or coercion.
Victims of labor trafficking may be forced to work in various
industries.
•Sex trafficking
-sex trafficking involves the recruitment, harboring,
transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for
the purpose of commercial sexual exploitation.
