Effect of Varying Levels of Fish Amino Acid On The Growth and Yield of Siling Haba Capsicum Annuum L

This research examines the impact of varying concentrations of Fish Amino Acid (FAA) on the growth and yield of Siling Haba (Capsicum annuum L.) to promote sustainable agriculture. Conducted at Quirino State University, the study found that higher FAA levels significantly improved plant height, fruit number, and weight, with the highest yield observed at 9 tablespoons FAA. The findings suggest FAA as a viable eco-friendly fertilizer alternative for smallholder farmers.

Effect of Varying Levels

of Fish Amino Acid on the

Growth and Yield of Siling
Haba (Capsicum annuum
L.)
This research investigates the influence of different concentrations of Fish
Amino Acid on the growth performance and fruit yield of Siling Haba, a
commonly cultivated chili pepper species. The study aims to provide
insights into optimal organic fertilizer usage to enhance sustainable crop
production.
The experiment was conducted at Quirino State University Maddela
Campus from March to May. Findings from this study can help smallholder
farmers improve productivity while utilizing eco-friendly inputs.

Study
Introduction
Siling Haba (Capsicum annuum L.) is integral to regional
culinary and economic systems. Improving its yield through
organic amendments like Fish Amino Acid (FAA) can reduce
dependence on synthetic fertilizers and promote sustainable
agriculture.

Importance of the Study

This study addresses the need for eco-friendly fertilization
methods that enhance crop growth and yield. Results may
guide farmers in adopting FAA for better crop nutrition and
environmental benefits.
Research Objectives and
Scope
1 Research Objectives
• To determine the effect of varying levels of Fish Amino Acid on
plant height of Siling Haba.
• To evaluate the influence of FAA on fruit number and fruit
weight per plot.
• To identify optimal treatment levels for sustainable yield
improvement.

2 Scope and Limitations

The study was limited to the experimental cultivation of Capsicum
annuum at Quirino State University Maddela Campus during
March to May. Only four treatments with three replications were
tested, restricting broader environmental variability
considerations.

Treatment Description

T1 No treatment (control)

T3 6 tablespoons FAA per 10

The treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block

design with three replications to ensure statistical validity.
Data Collected and
Statistical Analysis
Data Gathered
Measurements included plant height (cm), number of fruits per
plant, and fruit weight per plot (grams) across all treatments
and replications.

Statistical Analysis
Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed to detect
significant differences between treatments, followed by
multiple range tests for mean separation at 5% significance
level.
