Traffic Light System Simulation Using Multisim (1)

This project simulates a basic traffic light system using Multisim, focusing on electronic circuit principles and practical applications. Key components include a 555 Timer IC for clock generation and a Decade Counter IC for sequencing the traffic lights. The simulation successfully demonstrates the proper timing and operation of the traffic light sequence, with potential for future improvements such as sensor-based timing.

Output Display

The circuit design is intuitive, connecting the 555 Timer for clock
generation to the Decade Counter for sequencing. LEDs then
display the traffic light states.
Working of the Circuit
555 Timer
Generates clock pulses. Frequency is adjusted by
resistors and capacitors for precise timing.

Decade Counter (CD4017)

Advances on each clock pulse. Its outputs are
connected directly to the LEDs.

LED Sequencing
The sequence runs from Red to Green, then Yellow,
and back to Red, with specific timing intervals for each
color.
