Science6Q2 Week9 Day4- Food Chain

The document discusses the interaction among living things through food chains in various habitats, including tropical rainforests, coral reefs, and mangrove swamps. It includes activities for identifying organisms, constructing food chains, and understanding the roles of producers, consumers, and decomposers. The lesson emphasizes the transfer of energy within food chains and the relationships between different organisms in their environments.

Interaction Among
Living Things (Food
Chain)
* Tropical Rainforests
* Coral Reefs
* Mangrove Swamps
How are these four living
things related to each other?
LET’S HAVE A GAME!
Get the envelope and identify the
picture organism inside the envelope.
Make as simple habitat from the
different organism you have found
inside the envelope.
• Forest
• Coral reefs
• Mangrove area
Activity 1 : Food chain in Coral Reefs
Activity 2
Food chain in forest
Activity 3: Food chain in Mangrove area
Based on the activity you
have presented …
Which are the primary
consumers? Secondary
consumers? Thirtiary
consumers?
Decomposers?
What is being transferred
in a food chain?
What happen to the
stored energy when
transferred to other
consumers?
Individual Activity
Draw an example of
food chain in any
habitat.
Be able to explain your
work.
Are you familiar to this tree? Describe the
tree. Why this tree can survive in this
area?

mangrove tree
What ideas did
you learn from
this lesson?
A food chain shows the feeding relationship between
different living things in a particular environment or
habitat. Plants are the bottom of a food chain because
they are autotrophs that make their food from the non-
living environment. Organisms that can make their own
food are called producers. Consumers are animals that
eat producers or other animals. The animal that eats the
producer is called the primary consumer. The animal that
eats the primary consumer is called a secondary
consumer. The animal that eats the secondary consumer
is called a third order consumer and so on to fourth, fifth,
etc. The direction of arrows between the organisms
shows who eats what.
A. Using the picture of food web.
Construct 5 food chains out of it.
