INTRODUCTIO N Goa, the smallest state in India by area, is located on the western coast and is known for its stunning beaches, Portuguese heritage, and vibrant nightlife. It is a popular tourist destination famous for its culture, seafood, TRIBES & PEOPLE Goa is home to tribes like Kunbi, Gawda, and Velip. The population includes both Hindus and Christians, with a strong Portuguese influence visible in culture and tradition. FESTIVALS
Popular festivals include Carnival,
Shigmo, Christmas, and Sao Joao. The Goa Carnival is internationally known for its vibrant parades and celebrations. FOOD Goan cuisine features seafood and Portuguese- influenced dishes. Famous dishes include Fish Curry, Pork Vindaloo, and Bebinca. CLOTHES Traditional clothing includes Nav-Vari sarees for women and shirts with lungis for men. Beachwear is also common due to the tourism culture. DANCE & MUSIC
Traditional dances include Dhalo
and Fugdi. Music blends Indian and Western styles with instruments like Ghumot and violin. PLACES TO VISIT
Tourist spots include Calangute Beach, Basilica
of Bom Jesus, Dudhsagar Falls, and Fort Aguada. HANDICRAFTS
Goan handicrafts include pottery, coconut
shell art, brassware, and azulejos tiles reflecting Portuguese art styles.
