Quadrilateral s

The document provides an overview of quadrilaterals, detailing their properties, types, and theorems related to parallelograms. Key points include the angle sum theorem stating that the sum of angles in a quadrilateral is 360 degrees, and various types such as squares, rectangles, trapeziums, and rhombuses. Additionally, it outlines important theorems regarding the properties of parallelograms and the mid-point theorem.

ANGLE SUM THEORM OF QUADRILATERAL

The sum of the angles of a quadrilateral is 360 degree.ͦ

TYPES OF QUADRILATERAL

Square Rectangle
• It’s a quadrilateral having all sides equal. • It’s a four sided polygon having opposite sides
equal.
• All the angles are 90 degree.
• Diagonals are equal and bisect each other.
• The diagonals are equal bisect each other
perpendicularly. • Angle sum Theorm is 360 degree.
• The angle sum Theorm is 360 degree. • All the angles are 90 degree.
TYPES OF QUADRILATERALS
Trapezium
Parallelogram
• In this polygon, only one point of opposite sides • It is a 4 sided polygon having opposite sides equal.
are equal. • Diagonals are equal and bisect each other.
• Diagonals are unequal in Trapezium. • Angle sum Theorm of Parallelogram is 360 degree.
• No sides, angles and Diagonals are congruent. • Opposite sides are parallel and congruent.
• Angle sum Theorm of Trapezium is 360 degree. • Adjacent angles are supplementary.
• Rhombus

• 2 pair of opposite sides are equal.

TYPES OF • Diagonals of Rhombus bisect each
QUADRILATERALS interior angle.
• 2 pair of opposite angles are equal.
• Diagonals are always 90 degree.
• Diagonals bisect each other
Properties of Parallelogram:
Theorm 1: A diagonal of a parallelogram divides it into two congruent
triangles.
Theorm 2: In a parallelogram, opposite sides are equal.
Theorm 3: If each pair of opposite sides of a quadrilateral is equal, then it is
a parallelogram
Theorm 4: In a parallelogram, opposite sides are equal.
Theorm 5: In a quadrilateral, each pair of opposite angles is equal, then it is
a parallelogram.
Theorm 6: The diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other.
Theorm 7: If the diagonals of a Quadrilateral bisect each other, then it is a
parallelogram.
Theorm 8: A Quadrilateral is a parallelogram, if a pair of opposite sides is
equal.
THE MID POINT THEORM

• Theorm 9: The line segment joining the mid-point of two

sides of a triangle is parallel to third side.

• Theorm 10: The line drawn through the mid points of one
side of a triangle is parallel to another side, bisects the third
side.
