Digital India

Introduction: Launched in 2015, Digital India is a flagship


program of the Government of India aimed at transforming India
into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy. It
focuses on ensuring that government services are made available to
citizens electronically by improving online infrastructure, increasing
Internet connectivity, and enhancing digital literacy.

Key Pillars of Digital India:


1.Broadband Highways: Extending broadband services across
rural and urban areas.
2.Universal Access to Mobile Connectivity: Ensuring mobile
connectivity in all villages.
3.Public Internet Access Program: Expansion of common service
centers to increase access.
4.e-Governance: Reforming government services through
technology.
 e-Kranti (Electronic Delivery of Services):

Delivering services digitally like education, health,

agriculture, etc.

 Information for All: Promoting open data and digital

literacy.

 Electronics Manufacturing: Promoting electronics

production to reduce imports.

 IT for Jobs: Training people for jobs in the IT sector.

 Early Harvest Programs: Initiatives such as digital

classrooms, eCourts, and electronic greetings for swift

implementation.

sector's growth rate to 12-14% per annum.
2.Job Creation: Generate 100 million additional jobs by

the manufacturing sector to GDP to 25% by 2025.
4.Attract FDI: Create a conducive environment for
investment, innovation, and fostering skill development.

1.Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY): Aimed at
