1-5 Hear N Sight

The document describes the parts and functions of the ear and eye. The ear has three main parts - the outer, middle and inner ear. The outer ear receives sound waves and directs them to the eardrum. The middle ear vibrates and transmits the sound vibrations to the inner ear. The inner ear converts the vibrations into nerve impulses sent to the brain. Similarly, the eye has structures like the cornea, iris, retina and lens that work together to allow vision. Light enters through the pupil and is focused onto the retina by the lens, generating nerve signals to the brain for image interpretation.

5 SENSE OF HEARING
-The ear is the sensory organ for hearing and body balance. - the ear has 3 main parts: outer ear, middle ear and inner ear.

Part of the ear (a) Outer ear Function: Receives and directs sound waves to the eardrum (b) Middle ear (d) Ear pinna (e) Ear canal (f) Eardrum

Function Collect and direct sound waves into ear. Channel sound waves to the eardrum Vibrates when sound waves hit on it

(g) ossicles

Amplify sound vibrations. Send vibration from ossicles into inner ear.

Function : (h) Oval Vibrates and window transmit sound vibrations to the inner ear

Part of the ear (c) Inner ear (l) Cochlea

Function Changes sound vibrations to nerve impulse

Function: Convert sound vibration into nerve impulses which are carried by auditory nerve to the brain. Doesnt involve in hearing mechanisms

(k) Auditory nerves

Sends nerve impulse to the brain for interpretation

(l) Eustachian tube

Equalizes the air pressure in both sides of the ear

Iris control the size of pupil in order to allow certain amount of light to enter our eyes.

1.7 LIGHT AND SIGHT

Reflection: light bounces off the surface of an object.

Law of Reflection is obeyed if the parallel light rays fall onto uniform surface.

If the light rays fall onto non uniform surface, the reflected ray will be dispersed.

Application of reflection of light.

1.7 LIGHT AND SIGHT

Refraction : happen when light travels through two different medium with different densities at an angle. This cause the light to bent.
