This presentation talks about what is Application Migration, what are the indicators that tell you that you need migration, the pressing reason for migration, and how shall you plan and execute your migration.
This talk is about the agile adoption journey applied to transition a 40+ members team working on multiple projects.
Agile adoption is not about bringing in a new process; instead it is more about defining or rather redefining the organizational culture. One of the biggest challenges that any organization will encounter while it is embracing their agile journey is changing mindset.
There are many inherent problems with most organizations which need to be tackled during agile adoption. The main reason for high failure rate is because; change-agents talk of adopting agile and not about transforming the organizational culture to support its agile journey. The sad consequence is mainly due to the fact that change-agents undertaking organizational transformation do not have a proper buy-in or understanding of organizational consequences.
Based on experience with various teams, we have defined a framework to address this. This framework focuses on individuals, helping team transformation impacting its organizational culture.
To enable the team through agile adoption, I propose six step approach.
Evaluate: Conduct agile adoption evaluation and identify gaps
Gap analysis: Analyze gaps and derive ways on how to bridge the gaps
Propose: Propose and align various agile approaches that suites the team
Define: Define plan, adoption approach and road map
Pilot: Deploy pilot projects as part of agile transition
Extend: Extend across organization

The presentation concludes by advising organizations to find mentors to help with adopting Lean practices.
The A3 Agile Business: An Agile Alignment ApproachKarl Scotland
As scale and distribution set in at organisations that have strong growth, spreading the lean and agile culture becomes even more important to keep teams aligned and motivated. At Rally, we have fallen in love with A3 Thinking and templates to address this challenge. We do new hire bootcamps, employee trainings and walk the talk, but A3’s seem to be the most effective tool for helping us spread lean thinking and empower teams to share their problems and strategies. This talk will tell our story, challenge the audience and provide some education on these powerful tools for enabling teams to collaborate, steer and take action.

The content of the presentation is in the presenter notes.
"Digital" buzz word to describe a panel of expertises that we have in house. If you face at least one of the following we can support your company to become digital :
Cost saving?
Change management?
Alignment between business strategies and technologies?
Delivering on time on budget and on scope?
Customer centric approach?

AngularJS was originally created in 2009 as an end-to-end solution for web designers wanting to build simple web apps. Over the last 6 years it has evolved into a component based MVC framework targeted at JavaScript developers. To maintain backward compatibility, Angular has had to hold onto many deprecated concepts. This has caused some of Angular’s APIs to be complex and easy to misuse. Angular 2 is a complete rewrite of Angular 1 which eliminates the outdated concepts and takes full advantage of modern web standards like ES6, TypeScript, and Web Components.
In this session you’ll learn which Angular 1 features to avoid and how to write an Angular 1 app that will be easy to migrate into Angular 2. We’ll go through the process of refactoring an Angular 1 app to prep it for migration. Then Rob will demonstrate how to incrementally migrate to Angular 2. You’ll come away from this session with a better understanding of what Angular 2 has to offer and how to start taking advantage of it.
Objective
To make the migration from Angular 1 to Angular 2 as painless as possible
Target Audience
Anyone using Angular 1 or interested in learning Angular 2.
Assumed Audience Knowledge
Some experience with JavaScript and Angular 1
Five Things Audience Members Will Learn
How to write an Angular 1 app that will be easy to migrate

There are three main types of human movement: cyclic, periodic, and migration. Cyclic movement involves regular travel between locations, periodic movement involves longer but still temporary relocation, and migration is permanent relocation. People migrate for reasons like employment, family, political circumstances, and environmental conditions. Governments can influence migration by restricting or encouraging immigration through policies.
The document discusses legal and illegal migration. It defines legal migration as migration with formal permission, while illegal migration is defined as entering a country without formal permission, such as illegal aliens or boat people. Some reasons for illegal migration include overpopulation, poverty, trade liberalization, and economics/labor market factors. Effects of illegal migration include rising unemployment, tax reductions, increased crime rates, and threats to traditional culture from different cultures. Proposed solutions include policy changes and repatriation programs.
This lecture provides short but comprehensive review of software migration strategies. This lecture explains types of software migration, why it is necessary.
The document defines and compares different types of migration such as internal vs external migration, migration vs circulatory movement, and forced vs voluntary migration. It also discusses factors that influence migrability and provides examples of types of migration like immigration, emigration, in-migration and out-migration. Government controls on immigration are also mentioned.
This document discusses different models of migration including push and pull factors, Lee's migration model, and Ravenstein's laws of migration. It provides definitions for push factors that drive people away and pull factors that attract migrants to a destination. Lee's model shows migration as a process with intervening obstacles. Ravenstein's laws are based on patterns observed in 1880s UK, including that most migration occurs over short distances, to urban areas, and in stages with rural residents more likely to migrate.
The document outlines the key steps for assessing and executing an application migration including inventorying current applications, defining a migration strategy and roadmap, redesigning architectures and business norms, deploying in beta and parallel testing, validating through independent testing, developing new data models and classes, regression and unit testing, and finally migrating the application and data to the new target platform.
The document discusses different types of human migration and mobility. It defines migration as a move between places, usually across political boundaries, that involves a permanent change in residence. Different types of migration discussed include internal migration within a country, international migration between countries, primitive migration of groups unable to cope with environmental changes, group or mass migration of clans and tribes, free individual migration, restricted migration with government controls, impelled migration where people have some choice in leaving, and forced migration where people have no choice or power over leaving.
This document discusses different theories of migration including individual decision making and structural factors that influence migration patterns. It describes push factors that drive people to leave their home areas, such as lack of jobs or conflict, and pull factors that attract migrants to new areas like jobs or amenities. The document also discusses how certain groups are more likely to migrate than others based on attributes like age, marital status, gender and occupation. Finally, it outlines some of the demographic, socioeconomic and political consequences of migration for both sending and receiving regions.
The document discusses the systems development life cycle and the roles and processes involved in a systems analysis project. It covers the initial project identification, requirements analysis through interviews and use cases, logical design with entity relationship diagrams and data flow diagrams, physical design including databases and user interfaces, and testing and documentation. The goal is to analyze user needs and technical requirements to design and develop an effective information system to meet business needs.
This document provides a guide for deploying Microsoft Silverlight across an organization. It discusses planning the deployment, testing the deployment strategy through a pilot program, and then deploying and maintaining Silverlight. The guide describes using tools like Windows Server Update Services (WSUS), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), and Group Policy to deploy Silverlight, and maintaining settings and updates over time. It also provides guidance on troubleshooting potential issues during and after deployment.
