Introduction
App4Legal Customer Portal is an add-on that allows App4Legal users to collaborate and communicate with
their clients. It is a highly configurable portal that will connect the clients of the user’s company with the
company itself. The Customer Portal reduces back and forth emails as well as increases efficiency by
focusing on automation. Through it, clients will be able to know the latest updates on their matters as well
as provide their lawyers with requested information.

How to access it?

• The admin will be able to access the
customer portal by heading to
Administration & Setup under the
user avatar on the top right.
• The admin will scroll to the Customer
Portal box in order to setup and
configure the add-on.

Chapter 5 – Customer Portal
• The admin will head to Manage Customer to be able to add and manage the customers in the Customer
Portal.
• A list of the active customers are viewed with their details. The green dot indicates that the customer is
active.
• The admin can use the advanced search to search for a specific customer.

• The admin will be able to add
customers to the portal through 2
methods. The customer can either
be added via the Actions button
where the admin will also be able
to connect it to active directory as
well as export the data to Excel.
The client can also be added via
the Add Customer link at the top of
the page.
• Basic information such as the first
name, last name, email etc. can be
filled out to be shared with the
client upon logging in to the portal.

• The link at the top of the page should be
copied and shared with the client in order to
access the portal. The link can either be
shared via email or embedded in the website
of the company.
• The client will be directed to a page in order
to enter the credentials given. The company
can configure the page to include their logo.

• The client will be
directed to a homepage
where he/she will be
able to chose between
links the admin has
created beforehand.
• The admin can also
change the welcome
message and logo on
the homepage from the
Administration & Setup.

If we take this request type as an example,
the client will be able to fill out the
necessary fields the admin has created and
submit it to the user in App4Legal to take the
appropriate actions.

• These links will create tickets for
the client which he/she will be
able to track. In parallel, the
tickets created will create matters
automatically for the user in
App4Legal as well as the user will
receive a notification on the
creation.
• The client will be able to access
those tickets from the Tickets
button on the top menu.

• The client can know information related to
the ticket he/she raised such as the status,
priority etc.
• The client can also add comments in order
to inform or share with the App4Legal user
information such as attachments and more

• The App4Legal will automatically have a matter created upon a client
raising a ticket.
• The user will be able to access this matter by heading to the matters
module.

The App4Legal user will be able to communicate with the client by heading to the notes section
of the matter created → Add Note and adding the information such as attachments and more to
the note.

The admin can view the clients related to a
company by choosing the company name
and the system will generate the clients
under it.

The admin will be able to add/edit the request types available on the homepage of the Customer Portal by heading to
Request Type in the Administration & Setup.

The admin should click on Add Request
Type and fill out the necessary information
such as the request name and the fields
the client should fill out.

The admin will determine whether the client should see/change the status of the matter on the client’s ticket or not.
The admin can allow/disallow this option by clicking on the box under “Allow”.
