Oct. 16, 2012 at IHC, New Delhi

                   Dr. S.S. Jena
                    Chairman
                       NIOS
                    www.nios.ac.in
“The Open learning system has been initiated in
order to augment opportunities for education as
an instrument of democratising education and to
make it a lifelong process. The flexibilities and
innovations of the Open Learning System are,
particularly, suited to the diverse requirements of

had joined the Vocational Stream. The National
Open School, establishment in 1989 in fulfilment
of those objectives, need to be strengthened. It
has to provide support to the establishment of
Open Schools in the States”.
