My commitment to the collaboration of school and community is shown in the organizations I
actively participate and contribute to:
● Tri-Cities Sunrise Rotary: 2016 Community Chair, Volunteer Chair for See3Slam Basketball
tournament, past New Generations Chair and Co-Chair of the golf tournament which raises
funds for the scholarship program and a +1 Paul Harris Fellow.
● Co-Presenter at the PRIDE conference on “Bullying, teasing and Taunting”.
● Completed “Safe Space” train the trainer training through the PRIDE Foundation.
● PDQ & Perfect Image Leadership Foundations - building leadership skill in our youth through
after school programs.
● TC-GIVES (Tri Cities Gang Intervention Valuing Education & Service) past Co Chair with Ron

Unsung Hero Award from Seattle’s Child Magazine in 2010 nominated by Kim Keltch Domestic
Violence Advocate for the Pasco Police Department.
Member of the Benton County Citizens for Justice Tax, asked by Eric Hsu.
Grants – ​awarded in which I collaboratively wrote, implemented and monitored; including data
collection and budgetary responsibility.
2013 $500 for ​Otis​ books for every Mark Twain classroom, donated by Sunrise Rotary
2012 CARDEA, Teen Outreach Program, $17, 000
2011 Rural Families Foundation, $20,000 - $5K for Teen Parent Program, $5K to start a NHHS FFA
Chapter, $5K Circle of Hope – NHHS Franklin County Youth, $5K Scholarship for Senior to CBC
2006 – 2013 Tri Cities Sunrise Rotary Scholarship - $1500 each year for a NHHS graduate, ended in
2013 because of no applicants.
2006 Building Bridges Grant, OPSI 2 cycles, dollar value $250,000, this does not include in-kind.

October 2012 – Tavis Smiley interviewed me and students regarding our work on “The School to
Prison Pipeline”; documentary aired on PBS March 26​th​

This is a 5 minute video on truancy work. The video was back by Center for Children Youth and
Justice which was founded by Retired Supreme Court Justice Bobbi Bridge.

This is a webinar discussing the work with Teen parents. The National Drop-Out Prevention
Network is a part of Clemson University. I have also presented at their National Conference.

My Friends Place, the only youth shelter in this part of the state was promoted and created in
partnership with students from NHHS.

As a member of the Safe Schools group I met monthly and assisted in planning this event. This
group comprised of Chief Hohenberg, Andy Miller, Commander Childs, Chris Littrell, Trevor White,
Mark Lee, multiple other community members from public health and non-profits.

This was a webinar aired nationally regarding our teen parent program. Lara Kaufman from the
National Women’s Law Center and I have spent time together at the National Dropout Prevention
Conference. When I have questions regarding Title issues I contact her directly.
