It’s used to develop and manage dynamic websites, community and enterprise portals, capable of building and running modern application services, to address issues in several sectors. - 5. WWW.ENTANDO.COM 5 EASY INTEGRATION AND INTEROPERABLE Entando's open standards-based architecture provides unbeaten integration capabilities. In addition, RESTful APIs allow integration with third parties. Content, apps, and integrated systems can be exposed as a service via APIs. Thanks to its fidelity to open standards and a flexible architecture, Entando integrates easily with open source and proprietary products such as Jaspersoft, Salesforce, SugarCRM, Constant Contact, Pentaho, Activiti BPM and more. SECURITY Entando follows OWASP guidelines, encryption technologies (DES, MD5 and RSA), OAuth implementation, LDAP and Active Directory integration, and more. Identity Management modules are extensible with secure user and password policies management, pluggable authentication, and log-in procedures. Entando can integrate your existing security by acquiring user credentials on a customizable single-sign-on infrastructure based on CAS. MODULAR AND EXTENSIBLE Entando is modular and flexible, so services, core components, front-end layer and business layer are separate elements. Data and configurations are loaded as components called bundles. The API Engine allows exposure of information, content of the CMS and platform services, through REST interfaces; content can be exposed through research, creation, modification and deletion operations. Each API resource is protected by an authorization check, through OAuth protocol. Developers may easily work on new plugins, extend core components, and create connectors to third-party systems. BASED ON SPRING FRAMEWORK Entando’s prebuilt components perfectly merge with the standard development methods used by Spring developers. Entando provides a full separation of the UI and business logic layer allowing simple updates. Entando also provides many out-of-the-box components for features hand coded for Spring based applications. Using Entando’s components greatly reduced application development for Spring developers.

WWW.ENTANDO.COM 6 CLUSTERING & SCALABILITY Entando has always sought flexible solutions to provide an infrastructure offering operational requirements such as High Availability (HA), performance capabilities and scalability, to satisfy typical needs of web systems addressed to customers. Entando is based on a classic multi- layer architecture, which lends itself to different installation configurations even in the case of a single node. In the case of multiple nodes, installation variants multiply even more. Entando works well in clusters of multiple machines. Once Entando has been installed in more than one application server node, each one works independently; their synchronization is only limited to the cases of real need. This way, nodes are not subject to any overloads due to unnecessary synchronizations. Entando's clustering configuration is based on an architecture including the following tiers: • Client Tier • Load Balancer • Web Server-Tier (e.g., HTTP Server) • Application -Tier (Entando Application Server) • Data Tier In Entando’s clustering configuration we can have multiple application servers, which may or not be on physically separate hardware; in fact, we can have clusters of multiple Virtual Machines on a single machine. Furthermore, all application nodes should be pointing to the same database or database cluster, but the Entando architecture will not change. MOBILE READY, RESPONSIVE DESIGN UI Entando acknowledges the importance of addressing the rising trend of responsive web design in mobile technology and web-based services. For this reason, all our portals are wired to be mobile responsive and we provide an out-of-the- box customizable native mobile App for portal management. This means Entando is geared with a fully functional, mobile-ready, responsive administration area, greatly improving the accessibility and flexibility of portal management from all devices.
