James Cannon presented on when young people make career decisions. He discussed that according to a survey of 800 students, many had thought about university before their final years of school. His presentation suggested that career decisions begin even earlier, from primary school age, and influences like socioeconomic status can impact attainment. Therefore, outreach work should target younger age groups from primary school onward to raise awareness of career options and exert positive influence over students' whole school careers.
