I am not the smartest person academically, but growing up in the media world has helped me understand become a genius in the film industry. I don’t need this job, I want it. No one or nothing will get in my way or stop me from achieving my goals of being a director, I know that not only i can be good, but i can be the best. Working as a director to me, is a team effort. Just like many of the sports and hobbies i do such as playing football, basketball, and even gaming (with games such as FIFA or NBA) i like to be a team player, helping and having others on your side can help strengthen you which is what I like. My first encounter with media was at the start of 6th form, I didn't choose the subject, didn’t want to do it either but i thought why not, it was clear after my first lesson that Media is the one for me and my future. I am looking to go into the media sector, particularly via the video production department. In addition, I am also looking to further my career within the film (directing) industry, as I am always keen on learning and gaining new skills and knowledge. I see myself as a team player therefore I believe that the cast and crew I work with will get along well. I keep to strict deadlines so that it is proof that I as a director am very time efficient and won’t procrastinate on any work or any project. This will help me complete any work I need without delay and can deliver the end result when needed. I am always looking to improve because I want to be the better than any other director who has come before me. I always watch tv shows and films both new and old and i watch whatch how the film or show was laid out, what the director did well or wrong and I plan to use those notes as a guide to help me when I plan on directing my own show or film. I want to be the best so I will try to do anything I can to prove it. My level of dedication will pay off and I want my consumers to know it too.
- 2. PERSONAL INTERESTS AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES My personal interests include a wide variety of focuses, as I am an adaptable individual. My main interests and activities include team activities (as i mentioned before) such as football and basketball where i can develop chemistry with the people i work with SUMMARY OF SKILLS - Computer Skills: The main computer skill which I possess includes editing which is beneficial as I am able to help and work with the editors during post production. I believe that i am working at an working intermediate level - Languages: i am fluent in both english and french. However, i struggle to write and read a bit in french - Office Skills: i have decent office skills. I can communicate well with anyone, for example, i can communicate with people who speak formally or informally or those who use slang EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS: - Diploma in BTEC Media WORK EXPERIENCE I volunteered for a n organisation which aims to teach kids sports. This has helped my communication, teamworking and social skills which i can use when working with the crew and cast on and off set. - 3. experienced directors so that i may receive help and guidance which i believe would help me become a better director myself 2020 University In my third and final year of university I will be taking a more practical approach meaning that i will start working on individual and a few group projects. I hope to take onboard the success and setbacks from this to help me throughout the remainder of my course and help me find a suitable and more comfortable approach/ route to becoming a working director. 2021 Working director With my experiences at university, with all the lectures, guidance, individual and group work i’ve been doing inside and outside my courses. I have used and hoped to take that with me as i try to become a working director. Whether it’s as a freelance director, a small time working director, as an assistant director or a directing role for a small production company; I want to work somewhere where I can start to build on what I have set myself to do. The money I earn will go towards finding more and new ways to improve and help myself and others around me who also share the same
- 4. objectives as i do. 2022 Own Studio/Production company Media is very past paced, I want to accept that challenge and rise to the top against my competitors. I want to own my own studio where my production company and i can make great quality material for our consumers. Everything that i have learnt and from past experiences, i hope to use those qualities to make sure that my production company is a success Even though he wasn’t a director, as a child I would look up to Fred Quimby even though i never knew he was no longer around. The reason for this is because I loved watching Tom and Jerry which was my favourite show. The majority if the times i watched it, I would always see his name and his name only before the cartoon starts. I always looked at his name and I would thank him for me being able to laugh, so in light of all this i decided if he was the reason why I enjoyed what i saw then i wanted to do the same for others. I want people to be able to consume the material and then appreciate the work and effort that my team and I did to make that happen.
