- 3. The Problem Statement • Is MUMBAI SAFE for Women travelling alone during wee hours. How can Technology help in making this possible.

The Solution • A Mobile application Powered by Global Virtual Network and Vodafone Location Tracker and in association with RTO of Mumbai will help in reducing crime on women. • Women in mumbai uses Autos and Taxis to travel from work to their home and vice versa. • As soon as they hire an auto or a taxi they can use this App to scan the 2D barcode available in the vehicle or use the helpline no to send the vehicle registration no to the RTO helpline.

The Solution • RTO server will respond back with the Vehicle registration details, Details of the driver, Photograph etc. • Upon receiving the information the same can be passed on to 2 or 3 family members or friends. • Vodafone Location Tracker can be used to track the movement of the vehicle and alerts can also be received in case there is any unusual halt or if the vehicle is taking any different route. • Additionally can also be used to curb the problem faced in terms of rigged meters, refusal to ply etc.
- 6. The Constraints • Availability, Quality of the data with RTO • Acceptance with the Auto and Taxi Unions. • Stable connectivity through out the journey.
- 7. Implementation Steps • Setup a Helpline no with RTO with the help of Vodafone Global Virtual Network solution. – 10-12 weeks. • Development of the Mobile native app. – 6-8 weeks. • Implementing rule, Alerts etc on Vodafone Location Tracker. – 6-8 weeks.
