REVIEW ANALYSIS
The logo in the top left of the page reads ‘In Cinemas’ categorising
the film as a current cinema release as opposed to a DVD/Blu-Ray
release. Almost 50% of the page is covered by a photo captured from
the movie, which dominates the entire top half of the page, this
makes the reader want to read the information because the page
looks eye catching.
The title of the film, situated below the picture, is in big, bold, black
letters. There is a subtitle below it which acts as a bit of a witty
tagline to engage the reader even more. The main credits including
the director, screenwriter and cast, the release date, synopsis, and
running time are put on a column of the left side of the page under
the title of the film and above the review, as an introduction to the
reader.
The review is divided to four columns and is written in a font sized 12
they have decided to chose the colours black, red and yellow for the
review. On the bottom left of the page, cutting through the review, is
a quote from the review in large, bold, red letters which catches the
eye of the reader and breaks up the small body text so the review
doesn’t get boring.
Finally, a ‘Verdict’ section is printed on the bottom right of the
page. This is where the writer of the article or the critic gives there
overall opinion of the film and rates it with four stars.
This has helped me in planning my film review page as it gave me an
idea on what I could do and how the layout should be for the film
review. I was looking at different film review pages and this has given
me so many ideas on what conventions I could use in my own page.
