- 1. To Whom It May Concern: Thank you so much for taking the time to review my portfolio! I am a multi-instrumentalist, a music producer, and composer based in Los Angeles, California. I have been transcribing music by ear since I was about 13 years old; it started as a hobby. I have experience transcribing music for freelance clients, and I am looking for more opportunities. Attached you will find a portfolio I have put together. It consists of the following selections: • • • • A lead sheet for “Everybody Talks” by Neon Trees. This is a recent radio hit with a fairly standard verse-chorus-bridge format. A score for guitar, in standard notation and tab, for “Wind Cries Mary” as performed by 3osity, originally by Jimi Hendrix. The score covers the head and guitar solo from the recording. It features a few runs, unconventional chords, and numerous articulations. A piano score for “Jerusalem of Gold, Var. 3” by Yaron Herman. This is an Israeli folk song, as interpreted by a jazz pianist, and then transcribed and edited by me for a friend. (He wanted the runs to be slowed down and made less complex.) It features runs, free time, and unconventional/jazz chords. A full score of “Let's Go,” written by Mychael Danna and perfomed by DeVotchKa for the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack. It features multiple instruments showcasing different keys and clefs, as well as runs on the organ. Also attached is my resume. Thank you for your time, and I am looking forward to hearing from you.
