Journalism & Language > Throughout my magazine i wanted to use specific language to attract my young readers to keep them entertained and to present my magazine in a way in which it would not be seen as a normal magazine- i tried to do this by addressing interesting topics and including journalism which would actually be read by my young readers. On the double page spread i used my cover star and model as a new upcoming duet who are talking about their upcoming tour and album. The audience would be intrigued by this story as well as other stories included in the magazine about other very famous acts-information about these other acts would be on the content page. This type of content would be suitable and fun for teenagers and young people to read, especially those who are on-the-go.

Masthead Urban Age is the name of my publication.I wanted the title to relate and anchor with the concept and genre of my magazine.I wanted to present an edgy and eye catching.The color scheme of my magazine is black,white and red,as for many magazines.I wanted everything in my magazine to stick within this.When creating my masthead i originally planned for it to be black but found this was not very exciting and was boring.After learning how to use Adobe photo shop i was able to apply a gradient effect to achieve this fading look.The word Urban informs you it will consist of things from the youth subculture and modern content.The word Urban has connotations of youthful,quirky and cool-making it relatable to my audience who will very young.This will attract my audience as it highly relates to the genre and content of my magazine.I also think the name Urban Age is catchy so it will appeal to my young audience.

Photograph y The models used in my magazine are all female which will appeal to my male audience.The audience of my magazine will mainly be young but majority of readers will be male due to the content type.The clothing and poses f the models will also be accountable to the visual appeal of my magazine.The clothing of the models is very common in the youth subculture,making it likely for the young audience to be more interested as it is more relatable.

Social Media > Social media will play a big part in attracting readers to my magazine.The magazine will have its own dedicated Facebook and twitter page as well as a YouTube page to present all the featured magazine interviews with celebrities.My magazine will also have its own website too which will also allow for people to access the magazines content easily as well allow readers to share,increasing viewership.

Genre & Content > The main genres of my magazine are British and American Hiphop,rap and R'n'B.These types of music are very popular within youth subcultures.I decided to evolve my magazine around this scene of music as i think there are many fans around the world who are interested in these genres,especially young people within cities such as London.I also chose to make my magazine about these genres because i thought it would help achieve a larger audience as there is a large fan base for these genres.

Colour Scheme > I think the colour scheme of my magazine attracted the audience as it anchors the theme and genre of the type of the magazine it is.Red, white and black seem to be a repetitive colour scheme in a lot of magazines-especially music magazines similar to the same genre. These colours used would visually appeal to viewers and also stand out as all colours contrast well together. I think the colour scheme is appropriate for the style and layout of the magazines.I also believe my chosen house style is very effective as it links with my target audience and the magazine itself.
