BLE supports functions like geo-fencing for indoor navigation, peer-to-peer wireless personal area networks, and has lower power consumption, cost, and faster setup time than classic Bluetooth. BLE devices can be Bluetooth Smart Ready devices that support both classic and BLE, or Bluetooth Smart devices that are LE-only and require a Smart Ready device to function, like activity and sports trackers.
