1-solar panels will
receive sunlight
from sun.
2-SBPS will convert
the sunlight to
microwaves so
there will be no
energy loss.
3-microwaves will
be transmitted and
will be received by
receivers on earth.

 It is the most difficult part which can
create problems in our aim of getting
solar energy from space.
 Taking lots of solar panel from earth will
require huge amount of time and
money so instead of sending
thousands of solar panels into orbit
,we could just send up one that is
programmed to make copies of itself ?
and then each machine it makes would
make copies of itself and so on......like
multiplying rabbits the population of
solar panel satellites will grow
exponentially.
 It is difficult but not impossible ,many
international agencies are working on
it.
COST
 The cost of sending
thousands of solar panels to
space will be much more
.even one space launch
costs about 60 million
dollars, it will cost trillions of
dollars to send these panels
so our scientists are
working on making a
machine which can produce
copies of itself which can
reduce the cost.
ADVANTAGES
1- unlike other power plants it
will not produce poisonous
waste
2-It will collect solar energy
24 hours a day and 7 days
a week
3-the electricity can be
provided in any part of earth
just by setting a receiver.
DISADVANTAGES
 The main disadvantage is
the cost of setting solar
panels in space.

 The California-based “BioSolar”
company has developed a novel
technology to produce bio-based
materials from renewable plant
sources, which could significantly
reduce the cost of solar cells. By
replacing petroleum-based plastic solar
cell components with bio-based
materials, the company says it can
achieve cost reduction of up to 50% on
thematerialsbeingreplaced.
 A team led by MIT researcher andreas
mershin, continuing an8-yearresearchproject
of shuguang zhang, has developed a viable
means by which agricultural waste– like grass
clippings and leaves– can be used
to create solar panels within a few years, the
technology could be used so that people in
remote and developing
regions can generate their own electricity
withfewmaterialsandatlowcost.
 Thetechnologyisbasedonthewaytreesin
naturenaturallyorganizethemselvesinto
denselypackedforests.
Environmentally compatible production
methods for organic solar cells from novel
materials are in the focus of "MatHero". The
new project coordinated by Karlsruhe
Instituteof Technology(KIT) aims at making
organic photovoltaics competitive to their
inorganic counterparts by enhancing the
efficiencyoforganicsolarcells,reducingtheir
production costs and increasing their life-
time. "Green" processes for materials
synthesis and coating play a key role.
"MatHero" is funded by the European
Commission with an amount of EUR 3.5
million.

Weave Solar Panels Into Fabric.
Fabrics, as opposed to smooth and shiny
glass or plastic, are porous, which makes
evenly coating them with specific polymers
a bit tricky. If you consider how a piece of
fabric is created, it’s made up of multiple
fibers twisted together. Each fiber will have
a different level of roughness, which, from a
chemistry standpoint, includes multiple
light scales (nanometer, micrometer, etc.
When light shines on a solar textile,
the solar cells on the textile fabric
convert some of the light into
electricity.

innovation
While prosthetics are usually fully powered using batteries, a new
prototype from University of Glasgow researchers opens up the
possibility for solar-powered skin, which would include better
sense capabilities than current technology.
Amputees with prosthetic limbs may soon get a better sense of
touch, temperature and texture, thanks to the energy-saving
power of the sun.

The sun is a clean and inexhaustible source of
energy.
With the potential to provide a sustainable
answer to all future energy supply demands.
There is major problem i.e. the sun doesn't
always shine and its energy is hard to store.
Allows solar energy to be stored in the form
of chemical bonds.
It is the separation of water into hydrogen
and oxygen like plants do.
The hydrogen obtained can then be used
either directly as a fuel,

This technological innovation
means the platform could be
setup on water bodies like
sea, rivers, etc for meeting
captive energy requirements
as well as for the
conservation of lakes and
ponds..
It saves agricultural land.
Reservoirs are a great place to float solar panels, because
shading the water helps to prevent evaporation, saving water
and increasing efficiency
One additional benefit is that solar panels are less efficient at
high temperatures, and the water keeps them cool. In theory,
one should be able to get more out of a floating solar farm than
the same panels installed on land.
 Chandigarh gets the first Floating Solar
Power Plant in India
 In February, the world largest floating
solar farm will be plugged in near
Heathrow. Its 23,000 panels float on the
Queen Elizabeth II reservoir at Walton-
on-Thames, and it will provide power for
one of London’s main water purification
plants
