Ovaries
The ovaries are two small organs located on either side of the uterus
in a woman's body. They make hormones, including estrogen, which
trigger menstruation. Every month, the ovaries release a tiny egg. The
egg makes its way down the fallopian tube to potentially be fertilized.

Select 3 of the fracture type and report on it..
Types of Fractures
• A fracture is a partial or complete break in the bone. When a fracture occurs, it is
classified as either open or closed:
open fracture (Also called compound fracture.) - the bone exits and is visible through
the skin, or a deep wound that exposes the bone through the skin.
closed fracture (Also called simple fracture.) - the bone is broken, but the skin is intact.
• Fractures have a variety of names. Below is a listing of the common types that may occur
Greenstick - incomplete fracture. The broken bone is not completely separated
-
Transverse - the break is in a straight line across
the bone -
Spiral - the break spirals around the bone; common in a twisting injury -
Therapeutic Procedures
Radiation Therapy
Radiation therapy is a cancer treatment that uses
concentrated radiation beams to kill cancer cells.
The most common type of radiation therapy is
external beam radiation. This type involves a
machine that directs high-energy beams of
radiation at cancer cells. The machine allows
radiation to be targeted at specific sites, which is
why doctors use external beam radiation for
nearly all types of cancer..
The main goals of radiation therapy are to shrink tumors and kill cancer cells.
While the therapy also will likely injure healthy cells, the damage isn’t
permanent. Your normal, noncancerous cells have the ability to recover from
radiation therapy. To minimize the effect radiation has on the body, the
radiation is targeted only to a specific point(s) in your body.
Radiation therapy can be used during different stages of cancer treatment
and for different outcomes. Radiation therapy can be used:
•to alleviate symptoms in advanced, late-stage cancer
•as the primary treatment for cancer
•in conjunction with other cancer treatments
•to shrink a tumor before surgery
•to kill any remaining cancer cells after surgery
Therapeutic ultrasound refers generally to any type of ultrasonic procedure that uses
ultrasound for therapeutic benefit. This includes HIFU, lithotripsy, targeted ultrasound drug
delivery, trans-dermal ultrasound drug delivery, ultrasound hemostasis, cancer therapy, and
ultrasound assisted thrombolysis[1] [2] It may use focused ultrasound (FUS) or unfocused
ultrasound.
Ultrasound is a method of stimulating the tisue beneath the skin's surface using very high
frequency sound waves, between 800,000 Hz and 2,000,000 Hz, which cannot be heard by
humans
Lymph node
contains specialized lymphocytes that are capable
of destroying pathogens
Lymphatic vessels
Lymphatic vessels are among several structures belonging to your lymphatic system. In order to
understand how lymphatic vessels work, you'll first need a rudimentary knowledge of how your
circulatory system functions because many of these two systems' tasks are intertwined. In fact, the vessels
of your lymphatic system tend to run right alongside the vessels of your circulatory system.
Lymphatic Capillaries
• Lymphatic capillaries are designed to pick up the fluid that leaks into
your tissues from your bloodstream and return it to your circulatory
system.
• Over-the-counter drugs (OTC) are used to treat conditions not necessarily requiring care from a healthcare professional and
have been proven to meet higher safety standards for self-medication by patients. Often a lower strength of a drug will be
approved for OTC use, whereas higher strengths require a prescription to be obtained; a notable case is ibuprofen, which has
been widely available as an
• OTC pain killer since the mid-1980s but is still available by prescription in doses up to four times the OTC dose for use in cases
of severe pain not adequately controlled by the lower, OTC strength.
• Herbal preparations, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and other food supplements are regulated by the FDA as dietary
supplements. Because specific health claims cannot be made, the consumer must make informed decisions when purchasing
such products
