It houses the branches of government that make, judge, and enforce laws and is known for its many memorials honoring presidents and soldiers. The Smithsonian Institution museums in DC help preserve American history and culture and display artifacts from fields like art, aviation, and Native American life.

Washington DC is home to important buildings like the Smithsonian museums, BUREAU OF ENGRAVING AND PRINTING $$$, and the National Archives. DC is home to many Government agencies like the Dept. of Defense , Dept. of Agriculture, and the FBI.

Charles L’ Enfant worked with George Washington DC as a designer to remodel Washington DC, hired and fired by George Washington, and he is buried at Arlington National cemetery. Benjamin Banneker he took over when Charles L’ Enfant was fired. He was black which was incredible at this time in history. Andrew Ellicott helped take over with Benjamin Banneker after L’ Enfant was fired. James Smithson funded $$$$$$ the Smithsonian Museums. He was from England!!!
