Why Standards-Based Drivers Offer Better API IntegrationNordic APIs
As enterprises grow, so too does the number and variety of data sources they use to drive business. The average company is using at least sixteen SaaS applications and has data in at least that many on-premises data stores and internal apps.
With such disparate data, each tied to a unique API, integrating, managing, and maintaining integrations for all of a company’s data creates a whole new set of challenges. Thankfully, solutions exist that enable enterprises to rely on data to drive business without causing undue strain. In this session, we’ll explore and compare the different options for solving the data integration problem and explain why you should be using standards-based drivers to abstract your API integrations.

Combining logs, metrics, and traces for unified observabilityElasticsearch
The document discusses Elastic's approach to unified observability which combines logs, metrics, and traces into a single platform to break down silos. Key points include:
- Traditional monitoring tools are siloed and don't work well for modern cloud-native applications.
- Elastic offers a unified approach that brings together APM, uptime, metrics, and logs data on a single platform powered by the Elastic stack.
- This provides benefits like unified anomaly detection, alerting, visualization, schema, and pricing to give developers and operations teams a single tool for observability.
Uber developed a new mobile architecture to address issues with their previous architecture and support continued growth. The new architecture uses scoped RIB components with single responsibilities, plugins to enable experimentation and isolation of new features, and a reactive data flow model. These changes resulted in improved stability, velocity of development, and developer happiness.
How to Say Yes to Self-Service in the Cloud and Become an IT HeroRightScale
We’ve all seen the trend: your internal customers, developers, and business users alike, want self-service access to IT resources they need. And increasingly they want those resources in the cloud via a single management console. Cloud computing offers them the agility they need to respond to market demands and the ability to scale up while keeping costs low.
IT can become a hero by providing a self-service portal where internal customers can provision their own cloud resources while IT can maintain the control and visibility an enterprise requires. The happy result: enterprise agility and enterprise control.
During this session, learn how to empower your internal customers to provision the necessary cloud resources when they need them but also ensure that they are well within IT approved guidelines.
To help illustrate the effectiveness of this approach, our presenters walk you through real-world examples and the overall impact on their organizations.
1. Create an IT vending machine with consistent and reproducible processes.
2. Manage multiple IT environments through a single-pane-of-glass.
3. Use cost planning and forecasting to fine-tune and understand cloud spend.
4. Discover reporting and auditing tools to ensure compliance.

The Ultimate Application Monitoring Guide for KubernetesDevOps.com
ust when you thought everything was better. Kubernetes orchestration was supposed to be the answer to the application resource nightmare, but it hasn’t worked out that way. Even more visibility challenges, constantly changing applications, and super-frequent update schedules all contribute to a miserable time monitoring application performance in orchestrated environments.
But all is not lost – there is a way to effectively manage the performance of orchestrated, containerized applications. It’s more than just newer monitoring agents – it’s a whole new monitoring attitude, and it begins with complete automation. Join our live webinar to learn the absolute necessities when it comes to monitoring these critical orchestrated applications
This document discusses modern application architectures on AWS. It covers key concepts like containers, serverless computing using AWS Lambda, and managed Kubernetes with Amazon EKS. Specific services are highlighted, like Amazon ECS for container orchestration and Amazon Fargate for serverless containers without managing infrastructure. Case studies are presented on companies like FINRA and McDonald's using these architectures on AWS for speed, scale, and cost efficiency. The principles of cloud native applications are also summarized, focusing on pay-as-you-go models, self-service, elasticity, and other advantages over traditional data center architectures.
Not So Common Memory Leaks in Java WebinarTier1 app
This SlideShare presentation is from our May webinar, “Not So Common Memory Leaks & How to Fix Them?”, where we explored lesser-known memory leak patterns in Java applications. Unlike typical leaks, subtle issues such as thread local misuse, inner class references, uncached collections, and misbehaving frameworks often go undetected and gradually degrade performance. This deck provides in-depth insights into identifying these hidden leaks using advanced heap analysis and profiling techniques, along with real-world case studies and practical solutions. Ideal for developers and performance engineers aiming to deepen their understanding of Java memory management and improve application stability.

Scaling GraphRAG: Efficient Knowledge Retrieval for Enterprise AIdanshalev
If we were building a GenAI stack today, we'd start with one question: Can your retrieval system handle multi-hop logic?
Trick question, b/c most can’t. They treat retrieval as nearest-neighbor search.
Today, we discussed scaling #GraphRAG at AWS DevOps Day, and the takeaway is clear: VectorRAG is naive, lacks domain awareness, and can’t handle full dataset retrieval.
GraphRAG builds a knowledge graph from source documents, allowing for a deeper understanding of the data + higher accuracy.

This presentation explores code comprehension challenges in scientific programming based on a survey of 57 research scientists. It reveals that 57.9% of scientists have no formal training in writing readable code. Key findings highlight a "documentation paradox" where documentation is both the most common readability practice and the biggest challenge scientists face. The study identifies critical issues with naming conventions and code organization, noting that 100% of scientists agree readable code is essential for reproducible research. The research concludes with four key recommendations: expanding programming education for scientists, conducting targeted research on scientific code quality, developing specialized tools, and establishing clearer documentation guidelines for scientific software.
