Cyberbullying

Summary of Activity
After finishing a full unit on online safety
and watching the ABC Family movie on
Cyberbullying, my junior high students
are required to do one of the following:
Create an online poster
Create a podcast
Create an online storybook
Create an online comic book
Summary, cont.
 Peruse several cites to see which one they want to use.
 After they decide, they need to create a presentation
that shows the instructor everything they know about
online safety and cyberbullying.

 Correlate the illegal/unethical use of technology to the
 consequences as it relates to changes in society
 Discussed improper uses of technology

 Analyzed different online situations and determined possible outcomes

 Evaluate the effectiveness of new tools.
 When working with partner, students needed to assess
whether or not the online tool will work or not.
 Discuss with other groups what is working for them.

the students

level of the students
Completed Project
 This online project will show the teacher
everything the students know about online safety
and cyberbullying.
 They will use a plethora of online tools to show
their creativity and knowledge of the subject.
 Through this presentation, the instructor will
clearly see whether or not a student grasps the
subject matter.

 After completing this lesson students will be able to:

 Be able to choose good online sources
 Cite sources accurately
 Proper cell phone etiquette
 Be able to educate others on acceptable technology usage
 Know the dangers of the internet
 Be aware of bad technology habits and correct them
Timeframes (1 period=47 minutes)
 Cell phone usage = 1.5 periods
 Social media = 2.5 periods
 Online sources = 2 periods
 Dangers of the internet = 1 period
 Watch Cyberbully = 2 periods
 Create online presentation = 3 periods
