Sergey Brin is a Russian-American computer scientist and internet entrepreneur who co-founded Google with Larry Page. He was born in Moscow to Jewish parents who later emigrated to the United States. He received degrees from the University of Maryland and a PhD from Stanford University where he met Larry Page and they began working on their search engine technology that would later become Google. Brin's vision is to make all of the world's information accessible and useful, and through Google and other companies he founded like 23andMe, he is working to solve problems in areas like energy, climate change, and transportation.

- 3. Born in Moscow, to Jewish parents. Father, Michael Brin is a mathematics professor at the University of Maryland. Mother, Eugenia Brin is a research scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center Communist Party heads barred Jews from upper professional ranks by denying them entry to universities. In May 1979, they left Soviet Union and settled in U.S.A.

- 5. During his Ph.D. at Stanford University , he met Larry Page. They became intellectual soul-mates and close friends. Combining their ideas, they crammed their dormitory room with cheap computers and tested their new search engine designs on the web. Their project grew quickly and they realized they had succeeded in creating a superior engine for searching the web. So they suspended their PhD studies to work more on their system

Brin's approach to life, as based on a vision summed up by Google's motto, “of making all the world's information universally accessible and useful.” Brin and his wife Anne founded the firm 23andMe which lets people analyze and compare their own genetic makeup . Trying to help solve the world’s energy and climate problems at Google’s philanthropic arm google.org, which invests in the alternative energy industry to find wider sources of renewable energy. A few weeks ago, they introduced a car that, with "artificial intelligence," can drive itself using video cameras and radar sensors.
- 7. In June 2008, Brin invested $4.5 million in Space Adventures, the Virginia-based space tourism company. So far, Space Adventures has sent seven tourists into space. He is an investor in Tesla Motors, which has developed the Tesla Roadster, a 244-mile (393 km) range battery electric vehicle.
