ENGAGE European Network for Growing Activity in Game-based learning in Education LLP KA4 2008 - 3607 Duration - 24 months
Stakeholders Practitioners/teachers/tutors/trainers. Parents and learners in all sectors.  Researchers and students. National and regional policy makers and policy advisors. European policy makers and policy advisors. Game developers, game producers and learning content providers.
Objectives The creation of a European GBL Portal Main dissemination tool Documented methodologies Europe wide dialogue Targeted workshops  Supporting the practitioners Guidelines for Practitioners
Valorisation Valorisation Workshops in 12 EC countries Spain, Italy, Austria, Turkey, Ireland, Belgium (1st Round – 6 countries) E.g. Portugal, Greece, France, Slovenia, UK, Finland (2nd Round – 6 countries) Inviting selected promoters from other countries to cover at least 24 countries
Mainstreaming Increasing the monitoring capacity and promotion of quality approaches

Resources “ Decision Making” - IF support for teachers for broad  questions re games, the game industry, gaming culture, game technology, games for learning, criteria for games for learning. games and educational multimedia etc “ Reduction of the Learning Curve” - HOW information for teachers with respect to how to start, play and interact with various types of games +  how to implement these games and game-based tools in classroom/formal education situations “ Online Catalogue of Games for Learning” - WHAT A catalogue of serious games and other games for learning
It’s a bird, it’s a plane … A wiki? a wizard? an FAQ type tool? software help type tool? All of the above perhaps… A wiki: wiki as working method, wiki structure, wiki insofar as other users outside the partner group would be able to edit and add new articles A wizard: potentially leads users through from a general interest in using games for learning through specific advice on what games to consider and how to implement in an educational context FAQ: providing answers or paths from real/realistic questions  A software help tool: providing standard software search/browsing options, contents, index, search
