This document summarizes a research study on the effectiveness of human resources training programs in increasing productivity among small batik industries in Jambi Province, Indonesia. The study found that training conducted by the Department of Industry and Trade was not effective at producing skilled batik artisans. Data showed low rates of skilled artisans after training in several regions. Causes identified included immature planning, unselective teacher recruitment, lack of standardized operating procedures, low trainee discipline and motivation, lack of training targets, and non-systematic evaluation. The study aims to identify why training has not effectively increased skills and propose improvements to training effectiveness and productivity.
