- 4. • NARROW CONCEPT OF EDUCATION • Schooling and university instruction. • Success is evaluated in terms of passing of examinations • Deliberate, purposeful planned efforts by teacher to impart knowledge • Definite curriculum • Latin words Educare, Educere, and Educatum. • Educare means to nourish, to bring up, "to raise“/ to train or to mold/rear • Educere means to lead forth, to draw out, "to come out" "bring out", "bring forth what is within", "bring outpotential" and • Forth means out and away from a starting point/onwards in time.
