Analytic Ideas to Address Exchange Fake Volumes and Liquidityintotheblock
This document discusses challenges with measuring liquidity and detecting bad behaviors in crypto exchanges. Traditionally, order books and web activity are analyzed but are easy to manipulate. The document proposes analyzing exchanges at the blockchain level by using machine learning to classify exchange wallet addresses and transactions. This could provide more robust liquidity measures like inflows/outflows correlating with order books, exchange inventory levels, and liquidity provider interactions. Five new ideas for blockchain-based analysis are described to tackle exchange liquidity in a way that is difficult for bad actors to manipulate.

Crypto Analytics: Never Miss a Key Market Movement Againintotheblock
This document discusses analytics opportunities in the cryptocurrency market and analyzes four influential 2020 trends: Bitcoin momentum, the Ethereum renaissance, the rise of decentralized finance (DeFi), and stablecoins/ChainLink. It provides data-driven insights for each trend, such as the percentage of Bitcoin holders realizing profits, growth in Ethereum network transactions and fees, capital flows between Bitcoin and DeFi, and transaction volumes for stablecoins and ChainLink. The document argues that cryptocurrencies have uniquely rich data that enables new analytical approaches to understanding this emerging asset class.
This slide deck details some of the lessons we learned building price prediction models for cryptocurrencies. The session provides examples and practical tips about the challenges of price predictions in crypto asset markets.
Yield farming or liquidity mining have been at the core of the recent boom of DeFi protocols. From a trading perspective, yield-generating strategies are producing incredibly attractive returns compared to similar strategies traditional capital markets. How to build yield-generating DeFi strategies that correctly balance risk-rewards?
This session discusses the new world of DeFi quant yield-generating strategies. We discuss key building blocks required to implement intelligent DeFi quant strategies in an institutional-grade manner. The session will discuss how to think about elements such as risk quantification, back testing , simulations , protocol interactions and many others in the context of DeFi yield-generating strategies.
A Quantamental Perspective About Crypto-Assetsintotheblock
This document discusses analyzing cryptocurrency assets using data science techniques. It argues that cryptocurrencies require new fundamental analysis since they have properties like public ledgers and powering decentralized apps that make them different from traditional assets. The document advocates taking a data science approach to analyze the rich behavioral data from cryptocurrency ledgers to gain insights not available from just price and volume data. Some examples discussed include analyzing the profitability and sentiments of investors in different cryptocurrencies, tracking the activity of large investors and exchanges, and developing new predictive factors based on metrics like in/out of the money positions.

Intotheblock 5th Webinar: What Data Science Tells Us About Social Media And C...intotheblock
This document discusses myths and realities of social/news media analytics for cryptocurrencies. It argues that while sentiment analysis of sources like Twitter can be noisy, topics from reputable news sources can correlate to price movements. Lessons include using news for topics over sentiment, evaluating influencer sentiment on Twitter, and combining sentiment with social activity into a "popularity factor". Ambitious ideas propose classifying news influence and predicting prices based on influential topics and sentiment combinations over time. In summary, while social media analysis has potential with the right techniques, most current platforms use overly simplistic analyses that can be misleading.

DeFi is decentralized finance that relies on blockchain technology rather than central financial institutions. It provides financial instruments like lending and exchanges through decentralized applications. Popular examples include MakerDAO, which has a stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, and Uniswap, which is an automated market-making exchange. Other innovations in DeFi include NFTs, which are unique digital assets representing items like art, and distributed autonomous organizations that allow protocols to be governed by token holders. While many current DeFi projects may not last, the core ideas of decentralization and blockchain technology underlying DeFi are likely to persist.

A Journey into Yield Generating Strategies in DeFiintotheblock
Yield farming or liquidity mining have been at the core of the recent boom of DeFi protocols. From a trading perspective, yield-generating strategies are producing incredibly attractive returns compared to similar strategies traditional capital markets. How to build yield-generating DeFi strategies that correctly balance risk-rewards?
This session discusses the new world of DeFi quant yield-generating strategies. We discuss key building blocks required to implement intelligent DeFi quant strategies in an institutional-grade manner.
The session also explores how to think about elements such as risk quantification, back testing , simulations , protocol interactions and many others in the context of DeFi yield-generating strategies.

High Frequency Trading and DeFi: Ideas, Strategies, Building Blocks and Thing...intotheblock
Decentralized finance(DeFi) has opened the door for a new generation of high-frequency trading(HFT) in the crypto space. From basic arbitrages to super sophisticated algorithms, we can see HFT bots all across the DeFi space. How does HFT works in DeFi?
This session will present some of the core ideas behind HFT algorithms in the DeFi space. We will discuss key building blocks of HTF-DeFi infrastructures, risks and show real trades that explain these concepts. Finally, we will also discuss how the advent of Ethereum 2.0 can change the HFT landscape in DeFi.

This comprehensive Data Science course is designed to equip learners with the essential skills and knowledge required to analyze, interpret, and visualize complex data. Covering both theoretical concepts and practical applications, the course introduces tools and techniques used in the data science field, such as Python programming, data wrangling, statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization.
Mieke Jans is a Manager at Deloitte Analytics Belgium. She learned about process mining from her PhD supervisor while she was collaborating with a large SAP-using company for her dissertation.
Mieke extended her research topic to investigate the data availability of process mining data in SAP and the new analysis possibilities that emerge from it. It took her 8-9 months to find the right data and prepare it for her process mining analysis. She needed insights from both process owners and IT experts. For example, one person knew exactly how the procurement process took place at the front end of SAP, and another person helped her with the structure of the SAP-tables. She then combined the knowledge of these different persons.
