The Estonian National Inventory, maintained by the Genebank of the Jõgeva Plant Breeding Institute, was established in collaboration with the Nordic Gene Bank in 1994 and formally approved by the government in 2002. It includes approximately 1,000 plant genetic resources accessions from about 70 species, focusing on cereals, forage grasses, and vegetables, among others. The inventory aims to enhance the preservation of unique Estonian germplasm by consolidating information from various collections into a central database and fostering collaboration among stakeholders.
