SAV is an international contemporary architecture and design studio producing
highly original and intra-disciplinary work.
We see our studio as a platform to explore multiple curiosities between places,
stories and cultures, as well as with systems, structures and spaces.
Our work is inspired from nature and its resourceful efficiency and complex beauty.
Combining the aesthetic and materiality, advanced technology with craftsmanship
and performance with pragmatism we work across scales and contexts to create
designs that are evocative and extraordinary.
Founded in 2011, our work has already grown across different continents and
involves a wide range of project portfolio consisting of landscapes, highrises,
facades, mixed use masterplans, hotels, resorts, private houses, interiors,
installations, exhibitions, furniture and objects.
Our diverse team of design professionals that includes architects, designers,
computational programmers and artisans has come from different parts of the
world, ranging from the UK, US, Germany, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Turkey, Israel, Dubai,
Belgrade, India, China and Japan.
The different mix of cultures and people working and collaborating with us has
enhanced our working methods and given us an incredible cultural and economic
insight to create a strong foundation of design knowledge and skills.

Narrative Making Environment Studio Moods
We practice ‘design as process’
wherein the very nature of making
of a project and the varied
processes to do so, from inception
to completion and beyond is seen
as an important and defining
working method within the studio.
We integrate cutting edge
techniques of digital design
and fabrication with traditional
craftsmanship as the foundation
of our working methodology.
As designers from the 21st century we
constantly think of our environment
as a single global planet that we
live on with limited resources. That
automates to our dedication in seeing
resourcefulness as a key driver both in
design and performance.
Our studio is a warm, welcoming,
collaborative as well as an
engaging space. We are a lateral
organisational structure with
an open plan office, allowing
everyone within the team to
interact on a constant basis.
We belive in creating interiors and
spatial designs that are designed
to influence new programs and
behaviors for the inhabitants.
As interior designers we consider
layout, space planning, lighting
design, colour schemes,
furniture and fittings to suit each
environment.

OVERALL AREAS & FSI
Project Plot Area: 4475 sqm
Permissible FAR: 0.5
Project Intended Built Area: 2237.5 sqm
Height Restrictions: 9m
1. Initial Intent and Site Studies - 4 Weeks
Once engaged, SAV will cross check the site survey plan and all other site information provided
by clients. A site visit by Vikrant together with Clients representative will also be arranged as
soon as we are engaged. Along with site studies, SAV will prepare an initial intent showcasing
design direction, choosing locations for the house and guest house and some climate studies.
2. Concept Design - 8 Weeks
Once site and approval information is verified, SAV will present first set of ideas and sketches
through a Concept Design Presentation with visuals and graphical methods at the end of six
weeks. As part of Concept Design SAV will give an overall mood and feel of the design along
with addressing site constraints and opportunities. The design will give initial ideas of materials,
interiors and landscape. Concept Design will also have graphical plans, some rendered visuals,
elevations, sections and material intent.
Once concept design presentation is approved SAV we will send concept drawing package
information to Clients so that existing approved drawings
3. Design Development - 8 Weeks
SAV will develop the concept designs further to include detail finishes, material and fabrication
research that will be presented as DD report at the end of the stage. SAV will also prepare all
drawings required for budgetary requirements. SAV will liaise with all other engineers and any
other consultants to integrate structure and services drawings for the project. The DD report
presentation will also include internal space elevations, some internal views , ceiling plans, floor
layouts , electrical & HVAC layouts , door and window details, landscape details
SAV will also prepare a list of all approved vendors, fabricators and specialist manufacturers to
obtain initial budgets and installation details
4. Construction Design - 10 Weeks
Once an overall budget is decided and all planning approvals are in place SAV will prepare the
final architectural and landscape construction drawings, specifications to submitted for final
BOQ as well as to the chosen main contractor or approved tenderer. SAV will liaise and co-
ordinate with all other consultants to ensure that they have prepared all their drawings in line
with SAV design requirements.

Three decades ago, Studio Ghibli’s animated fantasy
My Neighbor Totoro taught us about the importance of
relationships; with family, friends, and nature. Similarly, the
concept of Totoro House is heavily inspired by the strong
family bond of the clients, the connection between its
occupants and relationship to landscape.

moon house
SAV architecture+design
Inspired from the sinous curved forms and raw texture of
the lunar landscape, the Moon House is part of a trilogy
of three houses located in the northern tropical seaside
state Goa in western India.
Formed around a louvered courtyard of existing trees ,
the Moon House is defined by its subtle curved entrance
and its black grey textured facade of local black slate
stone. The fluid insitu concrete steps contrast with the
warmth of the large teak pivoted wooden door and
the shadows created by the moon calendar screen
adjacent to it.
Shaped around a fluid crescent pool that forms the
central feature of the house, the layout of the Moon
House is inward looking since it was built on a tight plot
size with little views unusual for a holiday home of this
size.
