Operational Code Of Culture Essay
Culture is an operational code shared by members of a particular society, a system of shared beliefs,
values, customs, behaviors, and artifacts that members of society use to cope with their world and with
one another. Members of a society share their culture; there is no culture of one , it is learned through
a process called enculturation, and changeable through social interactions between people and groups.
Culture is patterned, meaning that people in a society live and think in ways forming definite,
repeating patterns. The Arab Republic of Egypt is located within the Sahara Desert, in the northeast
corner of Africa, west of the red sea and south of the Mediterranean Sea, the country is slightly larger
than three times the size of the state of New Mexico. The Red Sea Highlands run along the coast of

Moral Economic System
Introduction
Creating a moral economic system should be the ultimate goal of every society. A moral economy is
one that is founded on the principles of justice, fairness and goodness. A moral economic system
ensures equitable allocation of resources which are scarce in nature and configures markets to ensure
that they run fairy. The end results are to realize a stable economy that is free from exploitation,
political insecurity and wars. A moral economic system fosters peace and satisfaction among the
citizens of a nation (SEA, Browne, Milgram, 2009). It also creates a level ground for fair competition
among various economic drivers reducing negative rivalry that is retrogressive to economic
development and welfare hence the general improvement of the gross domestic product. A good GDP
creates a good environment to run economic activities which leads to the increment government
revenues and improvement of the infrastructure.
Free market and Capitalism
In a free market, the market is left under the control of demand and supply. However, this can be taken
advantage of by the capitalists who are out to leap the best from the economy. The profit maximization
that prevails in a free market is a threat to the move towards a moral economic system (SEA, Browne,
Milgram, 2009). This is because capitalist have always found immoral ways of interfering with the
market forces of demand and supplies. For example, hoarding of goods have been a common practice
in free markets creating

Corporate Power And Its Effect On Social, Political, And...
Since the late 1970s corporate power has grown to unprecedented heights. What does increasing
corporate power have on social, political, and/or environmental factors?
Who has the most power? Governments, consumers or corporations? Perhaps the question that should
be asked is who should have the most power. The obvious answer would be consumers and the
government. Although in a perfect world this may be the case but in reality this is far from the truth. It
is nor do the governments or the consumers who has the most power but rather the corporations. Over
the past four decades, a shift in power has been taking place, out from the hand citizens and the
nations and into the hands of the Multi National corporations (MNCs). This essay will focus on the
unparalleled growth of corporate power and the effects of corporate power on Africa in terms of
social, political and environmental factors.
The rise in corporate power cannot be seen more vividly than in Africa. Over the past four decades,
corporate social responsibilities of multinational corporations operating in Africa has been one of the
most prominent issues in the world. The rise in potency of multinationals owes its existence to the
natural riches of Sub Saharan African nations. These African nations are characterised by high
inflation rates, poverty and diseases such as malaria and HIV/AIDS. Multinational corporations has
seen an opportunity to exploit these resources in the aim of increasing their profits, thus have

Police Operations Research Paper
The backbone of Police Operations In this country it is very well known that patrol officers are the
most valuable people in the organization. Police officers are the first responders, the first ones to
arrive to an area where there is crime. Police officers are always around when needed. Most people
will disagree, until they are in a situation where they need assistance, and need an officer to protect
them from any harm. Police officers go through a whole lot, each and every day. Their day begins
from the moment they walk out the door to the moment their shifts come to an end. A police officer is
responsible for protecting and serving their community and their people. Whether they are helping
people calm down from trying to commit a crime, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whether they are on foot patrolling, on motorcycles, bicycles, or even in their vehicles. An officer will
always be easy to locate. Especially because they are all over the city patrolling. Whether they are
patrolling the streets, schools, airports, etc. They make sure to always try and keep everyone safe and
feel protected from any harm.
Police officers are really the backbone of this nation. Without them there would be more violence all
around the world. Yes, there is violence that does occur every day, but with the help of officers I feel
like there is actually less violence. There are many times where things to get out of control, and
shootings do break out, but most the time it s the officers trying to stop those who are doing the
shootings. Whenever there is some type of outbreak violence, law enforcement is there to help stop if
not all but some of the violence. Over the centuries violence has increased rapidly. It will continue to
increase as the years go by. Drugs have been one of the main causes as to why violence will continue
to increase. As police try their hardest to try and get drugs off the street, they will not be able to
because drugs are starting to come in from everywhere. The only thing law enforcement can do is
capture the biggest drugs lords. Yet, if we think about it all these drug lords have other people working

Deciduous Forest Biomes
A biome is a large community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat. Every biome has a certain
group of animals and plants and they are able to live because they can adapt to the environment in that
biome. There are biomes on land (terrestrial) and underwater (aquatic). All plants and animals that live
in a biome are interdependent, meaning they depend on each other in one way or another. The two
biomes being compared are the taiga biome and the deciduous forest biome. These two have
similarities and differences and are both a big part of human life. However, uninformed people are
negatively affecting these biomes even though they are very important to life on Earth.

Taigas have less diversity in plants compared to other biomes. The most common tree is the conifer.
Conifers include Pines, Spruces and Firs. However, there might be some deciduous species in a taiga,
too. As I mentioned earlier, the soil is very acidic and poor in nutrients so plants have to adapt to the
environment. Although it precipitates enough to water the trees, the precipitation is often frozen.
Conifers have adapted to their frozen environment by having thin needles with a waxy coating. This
reduces the amount of water lost through transpiration. Conifers have a cone structure so the heavy
snow can easily slide off. If they did not have this adaption, the branches would break off. Instead of
flowers, fungi and mosses cover the ground. Deciduous forests have five different zones. The first
zone is the Stratum zone. In this zone, there are Oaks, Beeches, Maples, Chestnut Hickories, Elms,
Basswoods and Sweet Gum trees. The second zone has young, short trees. The third zone is called the
shrub zone. Some of the shrubs that live here are Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Huckleberries. The
fourth zone is the herb zone and it contains herbal plants. The last zone is the ground zone. Mainly
mosses and lichens grow here. The trees have adapted to the forest by having thick bark. This keeps
pesky animals out and it prevents the tree form dying. Also, the leaves fall off during the winter and
the trees go into a state of dormancy to

In the King Arthur legends, Guinevere was so much more than King Arthur s wife. She taught readers
lessons how to be a great wife but also how to be a unfaithful one. From the moment she met King
Arthur, she forever changed his kingdom and both of their lives for the good and the bad.
Throughout Guinevere and Lancelot s affair, Guinevere was blamed for everything. King Arthur
called her unfaithful, an adulterer, and blamed her for the fall of the Round Table. Although he was not
wrong to say these things about Guinevere, he never blamed Lancelot for the way he treated King
Arthur, his so called friend. All he ever did was fight him in order to win over Guinevere, but in the
end it was still Guinevere s fault that the whole affair had happened.

everyone s mind. People are trying to spend less money during this period of economic downturn and
J.C. Penney is trying to market itself to make customers loyal to their brands in order to keep them

store brands that are available, and the consistent pricing such as middle income families. One tactic
that has been used to get families into J.C. Penney is offering free children s haircuts. Parents will
hopefully bring their kids in and then browse through the store afterward. Competition during and
after the conversion to the new store layouts and pricing will be steep. Stores like Macy s, Kohls, and
Target offer many similar products and styles to J.C Penney at similar prices. Other stores like
Nordstrom are more expensive but have very loyal customers. J.C. Penney will need to attract
customers that traditionally shop at other stores as well as bring back customers who quit shopping at
J.C. Penney and went to other stores. Without these customers there will not be enough sales to make
back the money spent on renovations, as well as on consistent pricing of merchandise.

The cancer is usually seen in HIV positive patients because HIV weakens the immune system, making
the infected susceptible to uncommon or rare pathogens. Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is a cancer that
develops from the cells that line lymph or blood vessels. It usually appears as tumors on the skin or on
mucosal surfaces such as inside the mouth, but tumors can also develop in other parts of the body,
such as in the lymph nodes (bean sized collections of immune cells throughout the body), the lungs, or
digestive tract. KS can cause serious problems or even become life threatening when the lesions are in
the lungs, liver, or digestive tract. KS in the digestive tract, for example, can cause bleeding, while
tumors in the lungs may cause trouble breathing. A person infected with HIV (that is, who is HIV
positive) does not necessarily have AIDS. The virus can be present in the body for a long time, often
many years, before causing major illness. The disease known as AIDS begins when the virus has
seriously damaged the immune system, which results in certain types of infections or other medical
complications, including KS. When HIV damages the immune system, people who also are infected
with a certain virus (the Kaposi sarcoma associated herpes virus or KSHV) are more likely to develop

Biopsychosocial Factors Of Mental Health And Occupations
Mental Health and Occupations
Aspasia Manettas
Mercy College
October 2017
Abstract
Two types of medical interviews are the biomedical approach, involving only biological factors, and
the biopsychosocial approach that includes both psychosocial factors and biological factors. Because
of the psychosocial factors in the latter approach, the medical practitioner can build a bond with the
patient and treat them as a whole. Social factors such as a patient s occupation play a huge role in
mental health. Occupations can cause stress on someone s body and mind, leading to mental illnesses
such as depression and anxiety. Knowing patients on a more personal level can strengthen the
outcome of their diagnosis and treatment.
There are two model approaches to patient interviewing in the medical field. The biomedical interview
approach, and the biopsychosocial interview approach. The biomedical approach focuses only on the
biological effects on health and medicine. This approach is faster and sees a higher quantity of
patients. According to Science The Need for a New Medical Model: A Challenge for Biomedicine, the
biomedical model, ...assumes disease to be fully accounted for by deviations from the norm of
measurable biological (somatic) variables (Engel 130). The biopsychosocial approach, on the other
hand, focuses not only on the biological effects, but also the psychological and social effects on health
and medicine as well. This approach digs deeper into the patient s history, uses more variables, and
finds the source of the problem and solves it. According to the article Reflections on a New Medical
Cosmology, the biopsychosocial approach ...gives recognition to the difficulties and distortions
involved in framing qualitative issues, whether psychological or social, in quantitative terms, and so
provides a separation between those appropriately... (Greaves 82). It is often seen that because the
biomedical approach does not include psychological and social factors, much information is left out,
and the patient and medical professional cannot fully make a connection with each other. It is
important to form a trustworthy bond with patients so that you

Silence In Sweat By Zora Neale Hurston And The Mother
Language is not always sufficient for telling stories, especially difficult narratives. The most difficult
stories are those that force characters into situations with no desirable outcomes. The short story
Sweat by Zora Neale Hurston and the poem the mother by Gwendolyn Brooks deal with vastly
different topics, but share the difficulty of narrating women s stories. Hurston and Brooks also share
similar views on the use of silence in writing, its use and effect. These texts define silencing broadly,
such as not expressing an opinion about an action, denying a character a voice, or even the absence of
new language. While Sweat and the mother agree that silencing usually amplifies women s stories
better than language, Hurston takes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The syntax of the punctuation also creates pauses. Pausing forces reflection: each space of not
speaking allows for the processing of the emotions Brooks presents. By pausing and thinking, the
emotions can become personal rather than the emotions of the speaker. Silence through repetition thus
allows traumatic stories and the related emotions to present themselves in full via reflection. Similarly,
Sweat repeats the final words of the story to allow a better grasp on Delia s experiences, and mainly
achieves this through the investigation of what the text does not say. After Delia sees Sykes s swollen
eye and neck, she leaves the house. She sits outside in the heat while inside she knew the cold river
was creeping up and up to extinguish that eye which must know by now that she knew (9). The
repetition of knowledge pervades. Like in the mother, pauses occur here, too, but for a different
reason. The phrases he knew, she knew, and [the eye] knows cause pauses to think about what each
person knows. Through this reflection, knew obtains a new meaning each time, because Hurston
forces the acknowledgement of each character s personal story. Without thinking and seeking out the
experiences of the characters, there cannot be any understanding of the knowledge. Silence invites the
investigation of what is not spoken, and eventually the understanding of the silence through

Freedom In Larry And Andy Wachowski s The Matrix
In The Matrix, the theme is freedom. The request asked by the writers, Larry and Andy Wachowski, is:
Is freedom possible? I ve recited the April 8, 1996 draft of their script, and observed at the film as
well. The theme of freedom is discovered in both, but presented with more uncertainty and subtlety in
the film.
On one hand, a quarrel is made repeatedly that freedom is impossible. The Matrix, after all, is the
deportation of all freedom. As Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) says, when telling to Neo (Keanu
Reeves) the history of earth:
MORPHEUS: I came to realize the obviousness of the truth. What is the Matrix? Control.
The Oracle (Gloria Foster), even though working to release mankind, actually doesn t have faith in in
freedom. She forecasts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You ll remember you don t believe in any of this fate crap. You re in control of your own life.
Remember?
Neo doesn t have faith in in fate, but the Oracle surely does. After all, an oracle is somebody who
makes predictions. By definition, the Oracle believes in fate i.e. that the future is previously written
and thus can be foretold.
On going the view that freedom is incredible, even Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving, playing the human
representative of the Matrix) is himself without freedom. When he s tormenting Morpheus, says:
AGENT SMITH: I hate this place. This zoo. This prison. This reality, whatever you want to call it.
Agent Smith, in regulatory humanity, has become trapped himself. In fact, while Agent Smith s
knowledge doesn t fit squarely into a quarrel as to whether freedom is or isn t possible, nonetheless his
knowledge helps us explore the theme of freedom from a different point of view.
And, of course, there s Neo s name: when you reorganise the letters, it spells One.
It appears pretty clear that true freedom is presented as being incredible. In which case, possibly man
is, in many ways, just like the machineries he serves in the film. Your car is a mechanism. How much
freedom will it

Differences in Gillette s Old and New Advertisments Essays
In the novel Brave New World, Aldous Huxley portrays a futuristic world to the readers, enabling
them to compare the present society to the future culture. Similarly, by analyzing the ads of 1950 s and
the 21st Century, we can compare the societies of the past and the present. The Gillette Company was
founded approximately a hundred years ago. The company has been making ads through out the last
century to popularize their products. By exploring these Gillette ads, we can gather facts about the
market system and consumer demands during the time periods where the ads emerged. The Gillette

Although few other competitive companies exist, through the years Gillette has become so famous and
rigid that it is a household name now. Given this lack of competition, Gillette has the freewill to do
almost anything. Their ads now give more attention to the product system rather than focusing on the
market. The Gillette Mach3, a modern ad is very simple, and pictures the Gillette blade and mentions
its features (Mach 3 Shaving System). Although the ad is very simple in nature, Mach3 is the most
sold Gillette product. Thus, owing to low competition and the comfort and uniqueness of the Gillette
products, the demand is very high, regardless of the plain features of the ads. Though the demands are
high due to lower competition, the Gillette product pricing remains a controversy. The 1950s ads
focused a lot on the cheapness of the blades and their ability to meet the expense of everyman
(Display Ad 71). J. P. Spang, Jr., the President of the Gillette Company in the 1950 s had said that they
had focused on producing products that are available in quantity and quality, keeping in mind to sell it
to the consumer at the lowest price consistent with a fair profit (Spang 25). Meanwhile, modern ads do
not emphasize on the prices, as they know their products are expensive. Due to their ongoing high
demands, the company probably assumes that in the modern era, the consumers do not get swayed
away by higher prices as long as the product is being upgraded. This

Food in Hamlet by William Shakespeare Essays
Food in Hamlet by William Shakespeare
Unlike some of Shakespeare s other plays Hamlet doesn t seem to contain as many references to food.
When researching food in reference to The Merry Wives of Windsor, it was easy to see much of the
symbolism behind the many references. One of the most interesting references to food in Hamlet we
discussed in class. I found it really interesting how Shakespeare used posset as a way to describe
poison clotting in the ear. Unfortunately though, references like this are few and far between in
Hamlet. One scene that I found fascinating was in act four, scene five. This is the scene where,
apparently mad, Ophelia begins to distribute various flowers. These flowers, ... Show more content on

The next herb that Ophelia distributes is fennel. While she doesn t say what this is for, in the version
of Hamlet edited by Mowat and Westine, a side note adds that, fennel symbolized flattery and deceit
(216). I believe she distributed the fennel to Claudius. Ophelia has now been deceived by Hamlet,
abandoned by her father s death, and left with controlling Laertes. Needless to say, Ophelia is
probably really wary of males at this point in her life. The flattery that the fennel stands for would
make it an appropriate gift to a King and it can mask the fact that it also represents deceit. I think
Ophelia knew that Claudius was up to no good, especially with his speedy marriage and ill treatment
of Hamlet. The deceit could also stand for Claudius using Ophelia to deceive Hamlet in order to
discern his true mental state. After examining all this information it seems only fitting that Ophelia
would distribute the fennel to the King.
Ophelia continues distributing her herbs, however this time she saves some for herself, There s rue for
you, and here is some for me; we/ may call it herb of grace o Sundays (217). While it is unclear
exactly what this herb is, Ophelia is sure the meaning is not lost. By representing rue I feel that not

In addition, kids in school often struggle with the lack of ability to remember what they learned the
year before.Year
round schooling can help students with this problem.
According to Grace Chen, an outstanding education researcher and writer in the article
Year Round Vs Traditional Schedule in Public Schools she stated that children often lose skills in
math and language art over summer break, they also have to readapt to school schedules, teachers,
school expectations and homework deadlines. This shows that students go through a lot of stress to
readapt to school over their long summer break and that results in the loss of concrete skills needed to
succeed in school.
Students would not have to relearn what they forget over the summer since they would only be out of
school, for at the most, three weeks at a time. They would return ready to pick up where they left off.
Research shows that kids forget most of what they learn in the first three weeks after a lesson, so
having your kid in year
round schools would help
Thielen 3
keep what they learned with them all the way through the school year. In fact, kids typically forget up
to one to three months of school skills over the summer vacation, making the time for review a lot
longer than needed in year
round schooling. Also over the summer the more important skills like math

Triangle Shirtwaist Impact On Society
Societal/ Economical/ Political issues The Triangle Shirtwaist had an enormous impact on society.
Most employees working at this factory were young immigrant girls who did not receive proper
working conditions. When the incident occurred, news eventually spread throughout the immigrant
community causing an uproar. The uproar would soon push issues of unsafe factories and immigrant
exploitation into the public minds for a while. For the first time, the Triangle Shirtwaist fire exposed
the awful conditions of New York factories. Many changes took place such the creation of

Government agencies answered to the public uproar by examining the conditions of the triangle
company and other similar facilities. The discoveries made showed that half the city workers jobs
where located higher than fire department ladders could reach, unhealthy working conditions, with
iron bars blocking fire escapes, overcrowded conditions, and wooden rickety buildings. Blanck, Harris
the owners of Triangle insured the building and received two hundred thousand dollars from nearly
forty different insurance companies. Shortly after the fire, they tried to open a new business. They
were fined by inspectors for positioning the machines close together. Blanck and Harris were charged
with manslaughter on April 11 for keeping the back doors locked in the factory. In 1913, Blanck was
charged again for locking the door to one of his new factories and was fined twenty dollars. The
following year, the two factory owners were fined for sewing fake consumer labels into their clothing
saying the factory met working standards. In 1914, Blanck and Harris settled the civil suits against
them, paying seventy five dollars for each life lost. they had so much insurance that they made sixty
five thousand dollars in profit off their factory burning and number workers dead. This caused more
chaos amongst the people, because the owners profited off the fire. By breaking canon 1,5,6 it is

Analysis Of The Of Ragtime
Socialism in America
E3 Argumentative essay
Sonia Rani
3/17/2017
Ragtime is an interesting depiction of cultural and political change. It can be argued that the story is
not just a reflection of the events in the 20th Century but the novel reflects the events that continue to
happen until today in socialism. For instance, the novel gives a glimpse of the kind of life experienced
by many African Americans. They were victimized by the society and the persons in authority refuse
to help them. Even in the 21st Century, it cannot be denied that African Americans are still subjected
to discrimination in socialism. Throughout the stories in this novel character represent that change and
partiality. Because of the massive development, there was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But he proves himself a good example of socialism as socialist. In Ragtime, historical elements like E.
Zapata, Emma Goldman, Coalhouse, mother s younger brother, Tateh and district attorney reveals as a
political example.
In socialism, the state also has a character of the class, but its content is opposed to that of the
bourgeois state: it becomes, for the first time in history, a state of the clear majority exploited against
the tiny exploitative or privileged minority (Rozman, 2014). Rozman (2014) explains that
Conversions to traditional socialism became more evident after World War II, with the Cold War and
later with the disintegration of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. So, as Ragtime, because it was
written in about 20th century. Since then, socialist regimes have been adopting more flexible stances.
Real socialism is developed socialism during the twentieth century. Currently, the socialist countries
are Cuba, China, North Korea, Laos, and Vietnam. Ragtime also depicts politics between relationship,
at court, as a victim, and attacking people for the sake of justice. On the other hand, ideal socialism is
that developed in the nineteenth century, the main thinker of socialism was Karl Marx, for him this
regime arose from capitalism and its means of production, having its control played by the proletarian,
as well as the state, which would later be extinguished, giving rise to communism that corresponds to

Edgar Allan Poe As A Poet
Edgar Allan Poe is known as one of the most well known poets of all time. Many of his works can be
disturbing, and that s a big reason he s so well known, but he s still regarded as one of the most
popular and talented authors. Even if it s disturbing it still takes a creative mind to come up with the
things that he did. From all his books some might wonder how he became a poet. Most might know
who he is, but others might not know his life in depth. This paper will go through the life of Edgar
Allan Poe and how he came to be a poet. Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19, 1809, in Boston
Massachusetts, he is the son of Elizabeth Allan Poe and David Poe(Mabbott,Cestre,Barzun). Poe had
two siblings, one brother and one sister. Their names were William Henry Leonard Poe, and Rosalie
Mackenzie Poe. Both of Edgar s parents were actors(Mabbott,Cestre.Barzun). His father died when
Edgar was two and a half years old on December 11th and his mother only died three days
later(Meyers). After that Edgar moved in with and was raised by John Allan, who was an exporter in
Richmond, Virginia(Edgar Allan Poe). Edgar went to Scotland and England and was given classical
education which he continued in Richmond(Mabbott, Cestre, Barzun).
Edgar attended The University of Virginia in 1826 for eleven months. But, he developed a heavy
gambling problem and his foster father refused to keep him in The University of Virginia(Mabbott,

The Conceptual Foundations Of Psychology
All sciences originally descended from philosophy and over the centuries the special sciences
gradually became independent of this discipline, with Psychology being one of the last of the special
sciences to separate from the parent during the 19th century (Banyard, Davies, Normal Winder, 2010).
The questions and ideas in Psychology have been of interest since the time of the ancient Greeks,
where philosophers inquired into how human beings know the world. Plato asked questions about
human motivation ( Why do we act as we do? ) and Aristotle attempted to structure the human soul
according to the five senses, imagination, common sense and memory (Leahey, 2004), which loosely
reflect the study of perception and cognition in present day psychology. Although the conceptual
foundations of psychology are to be found in philosophy, the inspiration for the creation of an
independent science of psychology came from biology. The founders of psychology took a path to the
mind through physiology, while a bigger influence came from a younger branch of biology evolution
which through a shift in focus from the contents of the mind to the function of the mind, eventually
gave rise to the different fields existing in psychology today such as psychobiology, cognitive
psychology, developmental psychology and more recently evolutionary psychology.
Although psychologists have traditionally revered William Wundt as the founder of psychology, the
historical reality is more complex.

Lets talk about glue and even glue in stick form. The earliest signs of glue was in cave drawings from
5000 years ago. They would mix their form of glue with their paint to make it stick better and have a

hides, horns, bones, and hooves. Sometimes blood, brains, and fish was also used to make glue. When
scientists made a better glue for pottery, utensils, and weapons people began to get more into unsung

that the were toward them races. Because of all the racism that was going on between there were many

What I find to be very interesting about the first amendment is that because we have freedom of
speech the Klu Klux Klan also known as the KKK are able to hold meetings and speeches that they

able to have freedom of speech but do I agree that that KKK should be able to hold hate marches and

my first answer is to say no, but when I use my critical thinking that I have learned in this class I say
yes they should be able to hold Hate speech. I look back to the famous speech in the black

Persuasive Essay On Abortion
A woman reproductive rights have been a controversial topic in the United States being destroyed with
new laws and decision making by the current POTUS. Especially, when it comes about abortion. Pro
choice websites help people to get more involved, and be part of the movement of legalizing safe
sanitized abortion clinics and for people to have access to birth control. Anti choice makes Planned
Parenthood look harmful, aware of the risks of a woman making these choices. Several of women
come from different walks of life there will be always a reason behind her choice, therefore,
pregnancy counseling center is a helping hand. Pregnant can bring a whole different viewpoint to
women s lifestyle.
Anti choice being against abortion is common for people to be against it. Being in a modern world
there are video proof and images to search information through media. Websites have made life easier
for people to be aware of the issues. Such as National Right to Life (nrlc) website their mission is to
educate the nation about the unborn child s belonging to humanity. Analyzing the website I was
surprised how they are not afraid to speak their mind by shaming Planned Parenthood for abortion. In
my opinion, is brainwashing because now people are not able to see Planned Parenthood a safe place
to go to for the doctors. The Pro life America website mission promoting the awareness about abortion
being dangerous. This website quickly made me feel uncomfortable indicating that Planned

organization is the largest heart health charity that aims to solve the serious problems on

BHF is to win the fight against cardiovascular disease and our vision is a world in which people do not
die prematurely or suffer from cardiovascular disease.
In this report, as the new Marketing Director, the factors that could effect on the future of BHF will be
analyzed. Five main sections will be concluded, how good leadership brings benefit to organization;
organizational culture s contribution; the importance of proper organizational structure; methods of
managing team; and importance of marketing budgets.
1 The importance of good leadership
1.1 The differences between management and leadership
There are many different definitions of management. The classical authors considered the
management is a role that aims to achieve effective operation, make regulations, provide directions
and control resources (Whetten and Cameron, 2002). However, the newer visions focus more on
management as a communication job in order to finish the work (Williams, 2010). Daft (2011) adds
the coordinating others to meet the new challenges becomes a crucial task for modern management.

Similarities Between Us And Vietnam
Although US and Vietnam have many similarities, they also have greater differences. First of it, In
US, people use cars as the main transportation method. They prefer cars than other transportation
because of several reasons. The climate in US is not suitable for driving motorbikes. Some states have
cold climate, for example, Alaska and North Dakota. As a matter of fact, Alaska has an average
daytime summer temperatures range from approximately 55 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit, and North
Dakota has an average of 57 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, in Alaska, the average winter
temperatures range from 5 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit and from 23 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit in North
Dakota. So it is not suitable to drive motorbikes in US. Secondly, roads system in US is made for car
transportation, because it doesn t have lanes for motorbikes. Typically, a highway in US have 10 lanes.
On the other hand, Vietnamese people use motorbike as the main transportation method. It is easy to
understand because streets in Vietnam are mostly small and tight, so cars cannot drive into it.
Furthermore, in peak hours, travelling by motorbikes will save much time because they can wriggle
through every spaces possible. Additionally, using cars in Vietnam is increasing the amount of carbon
dioxide that is expelled to the environment because Vietnam doesn t have a modern technology to
create an eco friendly car which produces less gas to the environment. In conclusion, Vietnamese

Trojan Cleanup
In the 2nd half of 2007, the developers of malicious software chose two distinctive paths. One group
terminated such software, while the other turned to viruses and Trojans. Thus, Zhou decided to enter
the field of Trojan cleanup. Unlike anti malicious software, the anti Trojan segment had been
dominated by major anti virus developers. However, having analyzed the technological differences,
Zhou believed that there were opportunities for Qihoo in this area. As Zhou noted, Trojans are
distinguished from conventional viruses in that they require simple technologies, which means an
accelerated lead time in development. In some cases, a developer can create a Trojan in just a few
days after proper training. Thus, the number and variations of Trojans keep increasing. In general, anti
virus developers launch only one cleanup program every year, supplemented by periodic updates.
Facing fast changing Trojans, the conventional anti virus engine technologies are less capable.

Essay on President Bush and FISA
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 was a necessary measure signed by President
Jimmy Carter in an effort to stop the CIA, FBI, NSA, and other executive powers from conducting
warrantless wiretaps of domestic groups for so called national security purposes. This was necessary
because findings by the Church Committee in the early 1970s suggested that warrantless wiretapping
had been going on for quite some time by these government entities and was exacerbated by President
Nixon and the Watergate scandal. This bill not only set a future precedent for how surveillance should
be conducted, but also attempted to set a standard for what good and bad surveillance were defined as.

These problems that President Bush encountered where in fact very similar to the problems that the
Carter administration predicted would surface when they were drawing up the bill in the late 1970s.
Carter and other executive members brought up many valid concerns that included physical searches,
overseas surveillance, communications intelligence, and how much power to give to the president
(Carter Memo 2). The version of FISA proposed in 1978 was in itself a solid piece of legislature. Over
the years, many amendments have been made to it that have slowly surrendered its power and allowed
to the executive branch to create loopholes in which to continue warrantless surveillance where and
when they see it fit. For this reason, the FISA process of requiring review by a special court is still
viable, but does need some adjustments that allow it to stand similarly to its original form. Since the
passing of FISA came after a widespread finding of warrantless wiretapping by a number of different
government entities, Congress along with the Carter administration, needed to carefully craft a bill
that not only reconciled national security needs to conduct domestic surveillance, but also continued to
protect individual liberties such as that of the first and fourth amendments. The once top secret Carter
administration memos regarding FISA offer a first hand glimpse at the thinking that went into

Operational Code Of Culture Essay Culture is an operational code shared by members of a particular society, a system of shared beliefs, values, customs, behaviors, and artifacts that members of society use to cope with their world and with one another. Members of a society share their culture; there is no culture of one , it is learned through a process called enculturation, and changeable through social interactions between people and groups. Culture is patterned, meaning that people in a society live and think in ways forming definite, repeating patterns. • 4. Moral Economic System Introduction Creating a moral economic system should be the ultimate goal of every society. A moral economy is one that is founded on the principles of justice, fairness and goodness. A moral economic system ensures equitable allocation of resources which are scarce in nature and configures markets to ensure that they run fairy. The end results are to realize a stable economy that is free from exploitation, political insecurity and wars. A moral economic system fosters peace and satisfaction among the citizens of a nation (SEA, Browne, Milgram, 2009). It also creates a level ground for fair competition among various economic drivers reducing negative rivalry that is retrogressive to economic development and welfare hence the general improvement of the gross domestic product. A good GDP creates a good environment to run economic activities which leads to the increment government revenues and improvement of the infrastructure. Free market and Capitalism In a free market, the market is left under the control of demand and supply. However, this can be taken advantage of by the capitalists who are out to leap the best from the economy. The profit maximization that prevails in a free market is a threat to the move towards a moral economic system (SEA, Browne, Milgram, 2009). This is because capitalist have always found immoral ways of interfering with the market forces of demand and supplies. For example, hoarding of goods have been a common practice in free markets creating ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Corporate Power And Its Effect On Social, Political, And... Since the late 1970s corporate power has grown to unprecedented heights. What does increasing corporate power have on social, political, and/or environmental factors? Who has the most power? Governments, consumers or corporations? Perhaps the question that should be asked is who should have the most power. The obvious answer would be consumers and the government. Although in a perfect world this may be the case but in reality this is far from the truth. It is nor do the governments or the consumers who has the most power but rather the corporations. Over the past four decades, a shift in power has been taking place, out from the hand citizens and the nations and into the hands of the Multi National corporations (MNCs). This essay will focus on the unparalleled growth of corporate power and the effects of corporate power on Africa in terms of social, political and environmental factors. The rise in corporate power cannot be seen more vividly than in Africa. Over the past four decades, corporate social responsibilities of multinational corporations operating in Africa has been one of the most prominent issues in the world. The rise in potency of multinationals owes its existence to the natural riches of Sub Saharan African nations. These African nations are characterised by high inflation rates, poverty and diseases such as malaria and HIV/AIDS. Police officers are the first responders, the first ones to arrive to an area where there is crime. Police officers are always around when needed. Most people will disagree, until they are in a situation where they need assistance, and need an officer to protect them from any harm. Police officers go through a whole lot, each and every day. Police officers are really the backbone of this nation. Without them there would be more violence all around the world. Yes, there is violence that does occur every day, but with the help of officers I feel like there is actually less violence. There are many times where things to get out of control, and shootings do break out, but most the time it s the officers trying to stop those who are doing the shootings. Whenever there is some type of outbreak violence, law enforcement is there to help stop if not all but some of the violence. Over the centuries violence has increased rapidly. It will continue to increase as the years go by. Drugs have been one of the main causes as to why violence will continue to increase. As police try their hardest to try and get drugs off the street, they will not be able to because drugs are starting to come in from everywhere. • 7. Deciduous Forest Biomes A biome is a large community of flora and fauna occupying a major habitat. Every biome has a certain group of animals and plants and they are able to live because they can adapt to the environment in that biome. There are biomes on land (terrestrial) and underwater (aquatic). All plants and animals that live in a biome are interdependent, meaning they depend on each other in one way or another. The two biomes being compared are the taiga biome and the deciduous forest biome. These two have similarities and differences and are both a big part of human life. However, uninformed people are negatively affecting these biomes even though they are very important to life on Earth. According to the New York Living Environment Biology textbook, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Taigas have less diversity in plants compared to other biomes. The most common tree is the conifer. Conifers include Pines, Spruces and Firs. However, there might be some deciduous species in a taiga, too. As I mentioned earlier, the soil is very acidic and poor in nutrients so plants have to adapt to the environment. Although it precipitates enough to water the trees, the precipitation is often frozen. Conifers have adapted to their frozen environment by having thin needles with a waxy coating. This reduces the amount of water lost through transpiration. Conifers have a cone structure so the heavy snow can easily slide off. If they did not have this adaption, the branches would break off. Instead of flowers, fungi and mosses cover the ground. Deciduous forests have five different zones. The first zone is the Stratum zone. In this zone, there are Oaks, Beeches, Maples, Chestnut Hickories, Elms, Basswoods and Sweet Gum trees. The second zone has young, short trees. The third zone is called the shrub zone. Some of the shrubs that live here are Rhododendrons, Azaleas and Huckleberries. The fourth zone is the herb zone and it contains herbal plants. The last zone is the ground zone. Mainly mosses and lichens grow here. The trees have adapted to the forest by having thick bark. This keeps pesky animals out and it prevents the tree form dying. • 13. Biopsychosocial Factors Of Mental Health And Occupations Mental Health and Occupations Aspasia Manettas Mercy College October 2017 Abstract Two types of medical interviews are the biomedical approach, involving only biological factors, and the biopsychosocial approach that includes both psychosocial factors and biological factors. Because of the psychosocial factors in the latter approach, the medical practitioner can build a bond with the patient and treat them as a whole. Social factors such as a patient s occupation play a huge role in mental health. Occupations can cause stress on someone s body and mind, leading to mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety. Knowing patients on a more personal level can strengthen the outcome of their diagnosis and treatment. There are two model approaches to patient interviewing in the medical field. The biomedical interview approach, and the biopsychosocial interview approach. The biomedical approach focuses only on the biological effects on health and medicine. This approach is faster and sees a higher quantity of patients. According to Science The Need for a New Medical Model: A Challenge for Biomedicine, the biomedical model, ...assumes disease to be fully accounted for by deviations from the norm of measurable biological (somatic) variables (Engel 130). The biopsychosocial approach, on the other hand, focuses not only on the biological effects, but also the psychological and social effects on health and medicine as well. This approach digs deeper into the patient s history, uses more variables, and finds the source of the problem and solves it. According to the article Reflections on a New Medical Cosmology, the biopsychosocial approach ...gives recognition to the difficulties and distortions involved in framing qualitative issues, whether psychological or social, in quantitative terms, and so provides a separation between those appropriately... • 15. Silence In Sweat By Zora Neale Hurston And The Mother Language is not always sufficient for telling stories, especially difficult narratives. The most difficult stories are those that force characters into situations with no desirable outcomes. The short story Sweat by Zora Neale Hurston and the poem the mother by Gwendolyn Brooks deal with vastly different topics, but share the difficulty of narrating women s stories. Hurston and Brooks also share similar views on the use of silence in writing, its use and effect. These texts define silencing broadly, such as not expressing an opinion about an action, denying a character a voice, or even the absence of new language. While Sweat and the mother agree that silencing usually amplifies women s stories better than language, Hurston takes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The syntax of the punctuation also creates pauses. Pausing forces reflection: each space of not speaking allows for the processing of the emotions Brooks presents. By pausing and thinking, the emotions can become personal rather than the emotions of the speaker. Silence through repetition thus allows traumatic stories and the related emotions to present themselves in full via reflection. Similarly, Sweat repeats the final words of the story to allow a better grasp on Delia s experiences, and mainly achieves this through the investigation of what the text does not say. After Delia sees Sykes s swollen eye and neck, she leaves the house. She sits outside in the heat while inside she knew the cold river was creeping up and up to extinguish that eye which must know by now that she knew (9). The repetition of knowledge pervades. Like in the mother, pauses occur here, too, but for a different reason. The phrases he knew, she knew, and [the eye] knows cause pauses to think about what each person knows. Through this reflection, knew obtains a new meaning each time, because Hurston forces the acknowledgement of each character s personal story. Without thinking and seeking out the experiences of the characters, there cannot be any understanding of the knowledge. Silence invites the investigation of what is not spoken, and eventually the understanding of the silence through ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I ve recited the April 8, 1996 draft of their script, and observed at the film as well. The theme of freedom is discovered in both, but presented with more uncertainty and subtlety in the film. On one hand, a quarrel is made repeatedly that freedom is impossible. The Matrix, after all, is the deportation of all freedom. As Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) says, when telling to Neo (Keanu Reeves) the history of earth: MORPHEUS: I came to realize the obviousness of the truth. What is the Matrix? Control. On going the view that freedom is incredible, even Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving, playing the human representative of the Matrix) is himself without freedom. When he s tormenting Morpheus, says: AGENT SMITH: I hate this place. This zoo. This prison. This reality, whatever you want to call it. Agent Smith, in regulatory humanity, has become trapped himself. In fact, while Agent Smith s knowledge doesn t fit squarely into a quarrel as to whether freedom is or isn t possible, nonetheless his knowledge helps us explore the theme of freedom from a different point of view. And, of course, there s Neo s name: when you reorganise the letters, it spells One. It appears pretty clear that true freedom is presented as being incredible. Differences in Gillette s Old and New Advertisments Essays In the novel Brave New World, Aldous Huxley portrays a futuristic world to the readers, enabling them to compare the present society to the future culture. Similarly, by analyzing the ads of 1950 s and the 21st Century, we can compare the societies of the past and the present. The Gillette Company was founded approximately a hundred years ago. The company has been making ads through out the last century to popularize their products. By exploring these Gillette ads, we can gather facts about the market system and consumer demands during the time periods where the ads emerged. The Gillette ads from the 1950 s to 2004 portray the declining competitiveness and consumer growth of the expanding Gillette razor industry. After the World War ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although few other competitive companies exist, through the years Gillette has become so famous and rigid that it is a household name now. Given this lack of competition, Gillette has the freewill to do almost anything. Their ads now give more attention to the product system rather than focusing on the market. The Gillette Mach3, a modern ad is very simple, and pictures the Gillette blade and mentions its features (Mach 3 Shaving System). Although the ad is very simple in nature, Mach3 is the most sold Gillette product. Thus, owing to low competition and the comfort and uniqueness of the Gillette products, the demand is very high, regardless of the plain features of the ads. Though the demands are high due to lower competition, the Gillette product pricing remains a controversy. The 1950s ads focused a lot on the cheapness of the blades and their ability to meet the expense of everyman (Display Ad 71). J. P. Spang, Jr., the President of the Gillette Company in the 1950 s had said that they had focused on producing products that are available in quantity and quality, keeping in mind to sell it to the consumer at the lowest price consistent with a fair profit (Spang 25). Meanwhile, modern ads do not emphasize on the prices, as they know their products are expensive. Due to their ongoing high demands, the company probably assumes that in the modern era, the consumers do not get swayed away by higher prices as long as the product is being upgraded. This ... When researching food in reference to The Merry Wives of Windsor, it was easy to see much of the symbolism behind the many references. One of the most interesting references to food in Hamlet we discussed in class. I found it really interesting how Shakespeare used posset as a way to describe poison clotting in the ear. While she doesn t say what this is for, in the version of Hamlet edited by Mowat and Westine, a side note adds that, fennel symbolized flattery and deceit (216). I believe she distributed the fennel to Claudius. Ophelia has now been deceived by Hamlet, abandoned by her father s death, and left with controlling Laertes. Needless to say, Ophelia is probably really wary of males at this point in her life. The flattery that the fennel stands for would make it an appropriate gift to a King and it can mask the fact that it also represents deceit. I think Ophelia knew that Claudius was up to no good, especially with his speedy marriage and ill treatment of Hamlet. The deceit could also stand for Claudius using Ophelia to deceive Hamlet in order to discern his true mental state. After examining all this information it seems only fitting that Ophelia would distribute the fennel to the King. Ophelia continues distributing her herbs, however this time she saves some for herself, There s rue for you, and here is some for me; we/ may call it herb of grace o Sundays (217). In addition, kids in school often struggle with the lack of ability to remember what they learned the year before.Year round schooling can help students with this problem. According to Grace Chen, an outstanding education researcher and writer in the article Year Round Vs Traditional Schedule in Public Schools she stated that children often lose skills in math and language art over summer break, they also have to readapt to school schedules, teachers, school expectations and homework deadlines. This shows that students go through a lot of stress to readapt to school over their long summer break and that results in the loss of concrete skills needed to succeed in school. Students would not have to relearn what they forget over the summer since they would only be out of school, for at the most, three weeks at a time. They would return ready to pick up where they left off. Research shows that kids forget most of what they learn in the first three weeks after a lesson, so having your kid in year round schools would help Thielen 3 keep what they learned with them all the way through the school year. The Conceptual Foundations Of Psychology All sciences originally descended from philosophy and over the centuries the special sciences gradually became independent of this discipline, with Psychology being one of the last of the special sciences to separate from the parent during the 19th century (Banyard, Davies, Normal Winder, 2010). The questions and ideas in Psychology have been of interest since the time of the ancient Greeks, where philosophers inquired into how human beings know the world. Plato asked questions about human motivation ( Why do we act as we do? ) and Aristotle attempted to structure the human soul according to the five senses, imagination, common sense and memory (Leahey, 2004), which loosely reflect the study of perception and cognition in present day psychology. Although the conceptual foundations of psychology are to be found in philosophy, the inspiration for the creation of an independent science of psychology came from biology. The founders of psychology took a path to the mind through physiology, while a bigger influence came from a younger branch of biology evolution which through a shift in focus from the contents of the mind to the function of the mind, eventually gave rise to the different fields existing in psychology today such as psychobiology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology and more recently evolutionary psychology. Although psychologists have traditionally revered William Wundt as the founder of psychology, the historical reality is more complex. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Carter and other executive members brought up many valid concerns that included physical searches, overseas surveillance, communications intelligence, and how much power to give to the president (Carter Memo 2). The version of FISA proposed in 1978 was in itself a solid piece of legislature. Over the years, many amendments have been made to it that have slowly surrendered its power and allowed to the executive branch to create loopholes in which to continue warrantless surveillance where and when they see it fit. For this reason, the FISA process of requiring review by a special court is still viable, but does need some adjustments that allow it to stand similarly to its original form. Since the passing of FISA came after a widespread finding of warrantless wiretapping by a number of different government entities, Congress along with the Carter administration, needed to carefully craft a bill that not only reconciled national security needs to conduct domestic surveillance, but also continued to protect individual liberties such as that of the first and fourth amendments.
