Climate Smart Disaster Risk Management (CSDRM) is an integrated approach that aims to tackle changing disaster risks, enhance adaptive capacity, address poverty and vulnerability, and promote sustainable development in a changing climate. It has three pillars: 1) tackle changing disaster risks and uncertainties, 2) enhance adaptive capacity, and 3) address poverty, vulnerability and their structural causes. The approach was developed through research and engagement with over 500 practitioners. It seeks to guide planning and evaluation of disaster risk reduction policies and programs to promote more resilient development outcomes.
