Roe v. Wade challenged the constitutionality of Texas laws banning abortion except to save the mother's life. The Supreme Court ruled these laws violated women's right to privacy under the 14th Amendment, giving women a choice over pregnancy.
Brown v. Board of Education overturned the "separate but equal" doctrine, finding that racial segregation in public schools was unconstitutional. It led to desegregation and helped advance civil rights for African Americans.
The 15th Amendment granted African American men the right to vote by prohibiting denial of that right based on race, color, or previous servitude. However, discriminatory practices like poll taxes and literacy tests still hindered black voting rights.
