Norton Juster s book, The Phantom Tollbooth successfully used different types of
literary devices to introduce the main theme of the novel which was the
importance of education. Juster told the story of a boy named Milo who was

sometimes, but always (1961, p. 9). Milo was very indecisive and overall, he leads
a pretty boring and uneventful life. However, all of that changed when he came
home from school one day and noticed a mysterious tollbooth in his bedroom. The

better leader. Other factors that contributed to William s victory include: William
was better prepared, the English army was severely weakened as Harold had just
fought off an invasion in the North of England, and Harold made a fatal mistake of
prematurely entering the Battle of Hastings.

Bronstein, was murdered on August 20th, 1940 by Ramon Mercader. Bronstein was

such as helping the Bolsheviks into power and creating the South Russian Workers
Union.
Lev Bronstein was born on November 8th, 1879 and grew up in a small town in
Yanovka, present day Ukraine. He was the 5th child of a well off Jewish farmer.
When Bronstein was 9, he was sent to finish his schooling in Nikolayev. As a
teenager he was very interested in socialism and helped create the South Russia
Worker s Union. He was later arrested along with 200 other union workers and was
sent to jail for four years. While he was in prison, he married a woman named
Aleksandra Soklovskaya and together they had two daughters . He abandoned his
wife and kids. He then escaped prison, obtained a forged passport and changed his
name to Leon Trotsky.
He then moved to London, England where he joined with Lenin and his group of

Zealand. It was the first ever act of terrorism in New Zealand. On July the 10th

11:38pm the first bomb went off blasting a hole about the size of a car. Then at
11:45pm the second bomb went off. Photographer Fernando Pereira drowned when
the vessel sunk as after the first blast went off he went a tried to retrieve his
camera equipment. This tragic event had a lot of consequences as not only did it
kill Fernando it also put fear in the minds of New Zealanders because it was the first

leading up to the event with the nuclear free legislation starting to take effect in New

since the early twentieth century there has been much investigation into athletic
