AEPL – A PIONEERING SPIRIT Shri A C Choksi, Chairman & Managing Director of the company founded AEPL and has steered the company through various phases of growth, diversification and economic chapters over the years. What started, as a modest 5 person operation is now a sizeable company employing over three hundred people. Today AEPL is one of the biggest manufacturer of Automotive Control Cables & Turned Components for Cables. We produce over around Six million Cables annually for our OEM Business Partners. Timeline. 1980 - Company formed as a Machine Shop to do job work. 1982 - Successfully developed Control Cables 1983 - Company shifted total focus for manufacturing Control Cables. Machine Shop facilities being utilized for making Turned Parts required for the manufacture of Heavy Control Cables. - 20. AEPL – ENGINEERING CENTER & TESTING FACILITIES ACEY’s State of the art Engineering Center incorporates the latest in complete Testing, Validation and Development facilities. As a result it not only enables us to comply with the stringent international quality standards but also we take a step further in improving the quality by the strength of our Development Capabilities. HOT & COLD CHAMBER ENVIRONMENT DURABILITY TEST RIG The Cable is installed on the test rig as per routing diagram on the vehicle. The test is conducted at – 40 ˚C for 1,00,000 cycles +80 ˚C for 1,00,000 cycles and at ambient temperature for 8,00,000 cycles. The operating lengths are measured after every 1000 cycles to ascertain that no extraordinary elongation of inner cables or compression of outer cables.
- 21. AEPL – ENGINEERING CENTER & TESTING FACILITIES DURABILITY TESTING RIG The Cables are installed on the test rig as per routing on the vehicle. The cable is tested at ambient temperature up to 10,00,000 cycles. The physical appearance, defect if any, the elongation are recorded in the test reports.
