• #14: There are many ways available today to take advantage of the cloud to lower costs: either infrastructure costs, operations costs, or application costs. You can stay on premise, but you can also: The first one is Private Cloud (IaaS), where you host BOE/Business Objects Enterprise on SAP HEC (HANA Enterprise Cloud) or a provider AWS/Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure as well as 3rd party hosting providers. In this case, you can use your existing BOE licenses, we call it BYOL bring your own license. With HEC, we can provide BOE licenses in a subscription model. The benefit of the private BOC cloud model is for customers who don’t want to manage their infrastructure internally and offload those costs to a hosting provider. Customers would still need to administer and upgrade their BOE system in this hosted model, however, HEC does provide a managed service offering to help customers with the administration and upgrades of BOE. The second option is to use our Software as a service offering which is only sold on a subscription model. The benefit of BusinessObjects Cloud is that it allows you to have all our analytics capabilities (BI, Planning, and Predictive) integrated into one solution with one user experience. The 3rd option is to run a mix of on premise and cloud depending on the project. We’re working on the SAP BI Hybrid license that will give you the flexibility to run the software the way you want. The product direction is to provide interoperability between SAP BusinessObjects BI and SAP Analytics Cloud. Today Analytics Hub already provides a single front end for all analytics content Note: BusinessObjects Cloud is a new SaaS application and doesn’t support BOE content types like Lumira, Crystal Reports, Webi, Design Studio. BusinessObjects Cloud should be positioned to complement an existing BOE platform by focusing on new use cases (ie Digital Transformation, extending SAP Cloud applications and SCP applications). We will cover these examples throughout the presentation. This change is massive. Today we connect everything: devices, people, data, and processes. Enterprises, of course, undergo similar experiences, and this changes the way they compete. Data is the key asset in this competition, so enterprises make data their strategic differentiator. Data has become the new gold. Meanwhile, new technology has also emerged. Besides in-memory computing, we now have stable cloud platforms that leverage in-memory computing and boost performance tremendously, much needed considering today’s massive data generation. These cloud platforms also reduce maintenance and support efforts while also offering the scalability enterprises need.

• #18: Lets take these steps one-by-one, starting with the new on-premise SAP BusinessObjects BI license model We’re introducing a new edition called SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence. This is a new edition that only includes the BusinessObjects BI Platform plus Web Intelligence functionality. It also includes Mobile BI, Live Office and SAP Application data access. SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise has reduced functionality compared to the previous BusinessObjects Enterprise Professional. It no longer includes the flash-based products Explorer and Dashboards. The price is reduced 22% compared to the prior BOE Professional product. We’re also making similar changes to SAP BusinessObjects BI, edge edition. This price point is reduced by 14% because it is a lower priced edition to begin with.

By exposing analysts to machine learning concepts gradually through existing BI and planning workflow, users of any skill level can begin to take advantage of smart capabilities to become truly data driven. The first set of augmented capabilities (Search to Insight & Smart Insights) helps analysts and users alike get answers faster out of their data, in a very natural way. SAP is changing the way analytics are created to match how we would normally search for new information: by asking questions. Instead of having to think about which visualization would be best to help you understand your data, you can use natural language to query your data, and have visualizations and additional explanations created for you, on the fly. Imagine a world where we could deliver answers to business questions without the need for human intervention to build visualizations manually. The second set of augmented capabilities (Smart Insights & Smart Discovery) helps to explain any data point, measure, or dimension, to further aid the trend and pattern discovery process. Let’s say I want to understand more about what drives the value of my sales opportunities, or revenue, or expense. Or maybe I want to compare one group of customers against another. SAP Analytics Cloud will conduct all the analysis for the analyst to not only advise on key influencers and drivers of a particular outcome, but the solution will also build out an entire story, highlighting important relevant data points through visualization. For analysts, this is a great first start for their analysis, and they can continue to enhance that story with custom insights. The most advanced set of augmented capabilities (Smart Predict) is focused on deriving the next best action to take through artificial intelligence. After business trends and patterns have been understood, Smart Predict enables business analysts to create an executable plan on where to focus, who to target, and how to optimize your business for the best possible outcome. In the past, this domain has been dominated by data scientists who have mastered traditional data science techniques. But SAP Analytics Cloud is changing the game and making machine learning accessible by everyone. Now, business analysts can seamlessly move between identifying business challenges into making sound business recommendations. This is absolutely a journey. Citizen Data Scientists (as referenced by Gartner) are predicted to create more advanced analytics insights than any other user. However, today we have yet to meet many users who call themselves Citizen Data Scientists. The bulk of these Citizen Data Scientists will evolve from business analytics departments into a new role where they will be able to take advantage of machine learning without having to complete extensive training on data science. These business analysts are the future, and SAP Analytics Cloud is designed to guide these users from traditional data discovery through to Smart Analytics.
