Project Overview
• What is the aim and the results of FEMENIN?
• To support adult education teachers and trainers in Europe to provide
high quality training and learning opportunities in Financial and
Economic literacy to migrant women
• This will be tailored to their needs and specifically designed to
support their social and labour Inclusion through Entrepreneurship.
• The 3 year project will develop Open Education Resources (OER),
innovative learning and digital tools to improve the adult educator´s
competences in teaching Financial and Economic literacy, numeracy
and digital competences to migrant women.

Migrant Women’s Entrepreneurship
Inclusion project, or FEMENIN for
short, is an Erasmus+ funded project
coordinated by Aspire Education
Group working in partnership with:
• Infodef and La Bien Paga, Spain;
• Innoquality Systems, Ireland;
• CPIP Romania; Danmar Computers,
Poland;
• The Governorship of Istanbul, Turkey.
Results will be:
• An ECVET (European Credit System for Vocational Education and
Training) Curriculum and a set of Training Modules.
• An Innovative Mobile Instructional Learning APP for adult educators
and trainers
• A multi-level Mobile learning App designed with migrant women
• A Multilingual e-learning platform with innovative e-Learning courses
and OER on ICT-based teaching methods
• A Guide for validation, certification & accreditation of Financial and
economic literacy education for migrant women in Europe

FEMENIN – Aspire Unit 4 –Financial & Economic
Literacy Basic Skills
• This unit provides students with opportunities to develop Personal
Finance knowledge and skills and understand how to use them
appropriately and effectively.
• It will also help students develop and demonstrate a range of skills
through their Personal Finance activities and studies.
• Students will also be able to develop and demonstrate understanding
of Personal Finance issues which may positively or negatively affect
them.

Performance Criteria
• The students can explain the basic concepts of financial and economic
education and which is their main role in indicating and assessing
basic financial needs, challenges and opportunities.
• The students can recognise, select and explain how to manage money
and to understand ideas on how to invest wisely.
• The students can understand some basic financial and economic
concepts and discuss their advantages and disadvantages.
• The students can recognise the basic Skills for planning economic and
financial futures.
Subject Areas
• Where does your money go? (Income & Expenditure) – This unit allows tutors to work with
learners to look at managing their money, in terms of both income and outlay, as well as
achieving a record of all transactions.
• Keeping Track of your Money (Budgeting and cash flow) – Where does a person’s money go? This
unit allows tutors to work with learners on setting money aside in terms of savings, pension
contributions, tax payments, National Insurance, as well as the day to day costs of living
• Financial Planning for the Future – Tutors can use this unit to help learners plan for their future,
both in personal terms but also in business planning as necessary. This includes aspects such as
saving for a deposit, buying a house, taking out a mortgage or business loan.
• Choices and managing financial risk (Financial products & services) – This area allows learners to
focus on investing money in the safest way possible and minimising and managing risks in
financial terms both short-term and long-term.
• Exchange rates and Money Transfer – learners can use exchange rate conversions and
understand associated terminology e.g. commission, exchange rate, currency in order to achieve
positive financial outcomes when trading currencies
